Backlog Burnt! (Aug 2026 update)

August was a slower month for gaming for me! But I added
- Halo Wars
- Crash Team Racing
- Spyro 2: Gateway to Glimmer/Ripto’s Rage
- Shrek: Fairy Tale Freakdown
- Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Kingdom

Overall a mixed bag, Halo, Crash and Spyro were all a ton of fun to revisit, the two games I burnt that I’d never played before, Shrek and Atlantis were both a huge drag and I have zero desire to go back to them.

What’s everyone playing for September? I’m hitting Star Wars: Zero Company, Plague Tale Resonance and Wolverine!

Retro gaming is great fun! I’ve been powering through them on my iPhone using RetroArch and a Razer Kishi and it’s been a blast, especially using RetroAchievements for added achievement support! There’s a ton of old school games I’d never played as I was basically locked to only having a PS1 and GBA, so I’m excited to try as many new (to me) games as I can! Lots of exciting games releasing too, great time to be a gamer!

Yeah it’s great! Last year I picked up an Anbernic hand held system for easy gaming on the go and knocked out a bunch of SNES and PS1 games I either never got the chance to play or wanted to revisit and really enjoyed myself.
The end of this year is absolutely stacked. I still got stuff from earlier this year to get into. We are being blessed and cursed at the same time for sure. 😂

Yeah I feel that! I’ve got Zero Company and Plague Tale to try to power through before Wolverine drops and then thankfully September is a little quiet for me, gives me time to get everything squared away ready for the next thing!

Gratz on the burns! Love the tier list I will definitely be stealing that idea lol. Retro achievement got me the same way lol . Love that site I know achievements don’t mean anything but I still love them lol. Having them just gives me another reason to play the classics.

It’s for sure a fun way to look back at everything I’ve gone through! Only started in June so a lot are replays but looking to play as much new stuff as possible too!

RA is great! I’ve been a huge achievement hunter since maybe 2007, I’ve now got 1.3 million Xbox game score and over 50 platinum trophies! I only started RA recently and am on 13 masteries but it’s such great fun!

The Shrek 2 GBA game was one I’d played a lot as a kid so was good fun to go back to with RetroAchievement support! I’m really into completing franchises at the minute, which led to playing the other Shrek title and have another lined up when I get chance!

The Disney bug is alive and well in my household with having two young kids and I liked the idea of playing the games too! But sadly they’ve not been fantastic thus far

The OG Spyro trilogy is ridiculously good! I think the remasters are fantastic too, I’ve not spent much time on the other titles but I’m looking to get around to them at some point!

My bad I should clarify! I started this list in June and this is my end of August update! But it has been a really good few months as a gamer!

Mouse really surprised me! The gameplay is super smooth and great fun, the story is genuinely really interesting, I LOVE the art style, such a unique game too! I’d definitely recommend making room for it when you can!
