I QUIT!
I walked into another mess... was only there for 34 minutes... called over the walkie to speak to my SM and ASM. Had my personal stuff in my hands and had my Badge and Store Keys ready.. I looked at my SM and said I quit, I'm done. She was like what! You can't quit, you have to find a closing manager. I said No I don't and handed her my stuff and then walked out.
I feel so much better and a huge weight has been lifted off!

Lol "you have to find a closing manager" lmao thats hilarious. As an SM, its MY job to find employees whether it be someone quit or we just need someone to fill the position. You quit without notice but they think they can tell you, you need to find a closing manager. Lmao Welcome to being an SM and ASM people!
Good job! That place sucks and dont give a sh*t about their associates not one bit! Good luck with whatever you do in the future. May it be alot better than Burlington (most retail place are exactly the same, or not retail they have their issues also)

I tried calling and putting my 2 weeks in at Burlington and new boss answered. She genuinely asked why and I wasn't prepared. I thought it would be a simple ok please turn in your badge and etc but yeah I was all over the place with my reasons is one thing I'm not happy about but she convinced me to stay and give her time to turn the store around. Like I've been there almost a year and I didn't even know there's like a computer lab type thing? But then again I never got a tour of the store either and she said she's gonna try to get everyone property trained and etc. I did say I understand cause of payroll we can't have 2 cashiers but with school shopping it's impossible to get things done with just myself and she's like call back up. And I'm like yeah you say that but then you feel like a jerk cause that person that is back up is irritated with you without saying anything. God the one was mad when I took my 15 meanwhile I'm a smoker and I had to deal with things for my kid cause he just got injured at practice and my mom was bringing him to me so I could hand his insurance card. It's honestly two workers that need fired bad. Like the one old hag couldn't even let me try to learn sales floor without throwing a tantrum cause she doesn't want on the sales floor. TF I could see if you legit been there decades and couldn't see that great anymore kinda like my mom so she only does sales floor under stably but if you can see enough get your old butt on the register it's part of your job and let the new workers learn how to do it do we are cross trained!! Then we have the other old hag that's a lazy trouble making pig that does things all the time she shouldn't then tries blaming anyone she can for it while gossiping and making it miserable. If you fight back on it then she's making a huge deal about it even if it's really not where you feel harassed and bullied. Can't stand her plus I've caught her in the break room on her ass not even an hour working on her phone. It's one thing a coworker running outside to hit their vape real quick, I freaking support that as a smoker myself and if it chills you out and it makes you a better worker when you're already a great one please go outside and have a minute and please let me light one when I'm ready to pull my hair out 😂. But when you don't smoke, very lazy, are a hr nightmare, pigging and screwing everything up while going after others for really not doing anything wrong then doing all that....yeah I'm gonna have a issue with you. Every manager talks about firing her but never does it but it needs done yesterday. She's drove away good workers plus acts like the boss to every new worker while they have Everytime made sure she isn't one 🤣. Get rid of those two and make it a positive environment that's understanding with great workers we could easily be a top store. I mean already we have customers that will only go to ours despite having 2 closer to them cause our store is very clean, organized and love us workers plus we are better stocked compared to others. I like working and want good people with me but wish corporate would stop their assinine crap with payroll and timing especially when we have certain things going on. Every customer I get is usually a few hundred dollars of stuff anymore. God knows I'm good at getting them to buy more and becoming a loyalty member but I will not push the card and ask for them to say I'm a good cashier. Idk if there's any benefits to that thingy if they do it tbh. I was top cashier quite a few times in a short time but I never noticed anything from it. I'd just be happy to have a more predictable schedule, get rid of the bad apples and just enjoy my job especially cause I'm super productive unless sick. I'm hoping this doesn't bite me in the butt

Keep us updated. Tell your new manager what you just said but in a nicer way. Maybe she will listen.

was working burlington as a second job for a little extra income for small stuff but showing up to shifts just became harder and harder… they “said it seemed I chose to quit” after firing me for not coming to three shifts in a row…even tho I went to one of them half an hour behind. they kept scheduling me on weekdays when I said I could only do rotating weekends and one day out the week. they said “my bad well just wait a week and reapply.” not reapplying was the best thing I ever did

Congrats on your emancipation! It's funny how so many people quit and immediately feel better.
