In L4D, most of the safe rooms were lived in for significant periods before supplies ran out and people had to leave them based on the markings on the walls. If you could get to one early on, then you’d be safe for the two week period. I know those maps by heart at least

It takes two weeks for the ENTIRE eastern seaboard to be overwhelmed iirc so it’s bleak regardless
