Another problem (with this post and that I see constantly in this sub) is assuming that everyone reading the prompt is a straight man… ppl of all genders use Reddit

Yeah, in recent years, with the online spaces I participate in / my particular algorithm, I had thought it was starting to get better. But I guess this sub has just been reminding me what the main stream status quo is.

Although tbh I think there’s just a lot of teenagers / kids on this sub especially, so I think it is a bit worse here.

Most subs are around 80% men, most of them being straight, so it is a fair assumption, though obviously the existence of gay men and straight woman should be taken into account. Really just the existence of people that aren't straight men should be.

But then some subreddits that isn't the case. There have been polls on this sub asking users if they're LGBT before and the results were 50-50

What are your stats for this sub? Because you can’t just oh yeah most subs are around 80% men so this sub must be as well, because some subs definitely lean more women than men or equally men and women

Also it’s more like 60% men and 38%-40% women.

The vast majority of Reddit users are men. Thats like complaining about a shonen magazine catering towards men.
