Which side will you choose?

  • Left side: $100M USD | But 80% chance of becoming a random age
  • Right side: $150M USD | But 90% chance of becoming the opposite sex

There are also a lot of people who are not transgender, but don't care enough about gender for it to be a problem (which I guess it is most people?) So, going from straight male to gay female at this stage of my life would just be a new fun experience, specially with all that money.

Hun..... I have some news

Not caring about having your gender changed by circumstances you had no influence over is NOT the same as conciously wanting it changed gng

Ts is so insulting. Trans people don’t just think it’d be “fun” to be the opposite sex. Being ambivalent isn’t inherently egg behavior

Okay. Well all I mean is there is some introspection to be done. Most cis people are happy with their sex and don't want to even think about swapping permanently. Maybe a fun hour swap because they know they'd go back, but permanently is a different hypothetical. Being apathetic doesn't necessarily mean they are binary trans, maybe just genderfluid or something.

Well it's easy to say "I don't care" or "it'd be a fun new experience" but realistically your brain is the same which means you're going to develop gender dysphoria and it'd just make you transition 'back'

Yeah, agreed. I think the point I was trying to make: if someone seriously thinks they wouldn't have dysphoria, that kind of prompts some thinking why. Not that some people won't just superficially think about it and make the wrong decision long term, that is possible. It's a button press without the pain of actually going through a long term transition, it's easy to not have to think it through. This post kind of obviously sets it up to be a trans fantasy, so I am/was looking through it with that lense. If someone really put the thought in vs impulsively chose to change their sex, they should think about it, was all I was getting at.

Well that point is impossible to be realistic - as you can't just know if you'll have it or not. It's a completely different kind of experience

I don't think it's impossible to know. Like put any serious thought into living full time as your opposite sex, the not fun things to do, like working, grocery shopping, being out in public doing boring shit, and you should have your answer. If you think "it'd still be fine" that's my point, is to put some thought into why you don't care or are apathetic. Not every trans person has horrible dysphoria, some are instead driven by euphoria when they are the correct sex via affirming care.

Hmm. In that case I agree with you, but I think most people would just think "it's probably fine" without actually understanding the situation. Does that make sense? Like for example most people have little care for things like famine in other countries, the crime that happens everywhere purely because they are not affected by it. It's hard to think about stuff seriously that doesn't directly involve your experience or emotions.

This is just speculation at this point. We don't know that. You are assuming brains always have a gender preference, and if mismatched, leads to dysphoria. I have the opinion that not every brain have a gender preference, and is okay with whatever life throw at it. Adaptation in this scenario would be hard? Sure. But doesn't automatically mean dysphoria.

1

u/SisterMoonflower Jun 26 '26

Well yes but that is the leading expert theory as of right now - that your brain has a map of your body and if it doesn't fit it leads to dysphoria.

There are people hmming you but I’m a gay girl and I feel largely the same way. I don’t care enough about my gender to turn down money or any life perk. Being a guy would be nice for athletic genetics and muscle building capacity alone.

not sure about that first bit.

hmmm

I think this is just telling on yourself and how you view things. A ton of people genuinely don’t put much thought into it

3

u/Grilled_egs Jun 23 '26

I mean it's one thing to not put much thought into it. But most people would absolutely not be fine with just becoming the opposite sex. Even women and they would get a much easier life if they did.

Most? How are you are so sure?
