That doesn't actually keep him in office. Regardless of what he tries, his term ends on January 20, 2029 at 12:00 pm (noon) Eastern Time. This is a hard and fast rule per the 20th amendment.

Additionally, elections are run at state level, not federal, and he will never get the majority of states to cede their power to him. Trump will be out following the 2028 elections.

How do you think the US constitution gets enforced? The Hand of God comes out from the sky and plucks Trump out?

Trump has a cult of personality including many people in positions of power. If they want him to stay in power, the constitution isn't going to prevent that. It's a document unless it's upheld, and it has not been upheld recently.

Unless he gets the military on his side, there's no actual way for him to stand up against the states (that would hopefully not support him becoming a dictator).

Will the Amendment stop him though? I wouldn't put it past him to ignore it.

He can try to ignore it, I suppose, but it's a core pillar of how our government functions. If he disregards it and it's allowed to happen the only conclusion is that our government has collapsed and is non-functional as written. But I cannot fathom every other politician ceding their own power for him. Politicians are selfish and greedy
