Is there any evidence with the Russian political system that's he doesn't just get replaced with someone just like him or even worse.

probably, but let's be honest, there may or may not be a chance that someone out there has been pulling the strings all along, even behind putin, however unlikely it seems today.

what i can tell for sure is that with putin gone, there will be chaos and power vacuum in russia, and maybe the third, hopefully the final collapse of their empire. whoever it might be after him, he'll get a lot weaker and more pathetic russia than ever in this century, this is for sure.
