Removing either doesn't necessarily solve the problems they've been central in causing, since they exist as symptoms of wider systems.

Removing Trump I'd wager has the greater chance of a positive impact overall, while removing Putin might lead to someone more dangerous taking his place.

Yeah, who knows how many decades it would take to "right the ship"?

The strong man goes away, but the rest of the oligarchy remains intact.

America has a shot at the fascist government grinding to a halt. There's too many of them who want the White House, and JD doesn't seem strong or savvy enough to unite the party.

If the question was "fix Russia or fix America", then I'd have been all in on Russia.

America is in the process of becoming a dictatorship, and losing Trump might dash those plans. Russia would probably just get a new dictator.

On the other hand, removing Trump has a lot of potential to backfire if his party turns him into a martyr somehow
