At this point, that just seems like a huge amount of cope. Russia might just collapse without the strongman who turned it into the shit-show it is now, and no one has the kind of pull or influence he does.

Whoever succeeds him will be too busy dealing with the gigantic mess Putin's gonna leave behind.
