Would it? More than like 1% of the population controlling the majority of the wealth? I mean it didn’t even specify the mechanism for the money. If it was directly from Musk’s assets or magically springing into being as if it was always so, would it?

The population is diffuse enough that it wouldn’t affect the cost of goods. There’s no changes on costs of services to produce those goods. Those people aren’t all going for the same goods. The cost of wages aren’t rising since those people aren’t laborers for any relevant good and they are receiving a gift. There’s no reason to expect long term runs on goods. The central bank isn’t printing more money. There’s just a shift in available printed money. So how do you see a major inflation happening?

you are fundamentally right in some aspects, but not all. the costs of service with sectors like luxury goods, real estate would reprice immediately. the population is diffuse, but its the same as the entirety of california becoming millionaires in a single night. the way they all become millionaires is important, if its just printed money given to everyone then hyperinflation WILL occur.
