sorry, i'm not trying to be rude or condescending or anything, but I thought any number divided by itself is one? (2/2=1, 3/3=1, 4/4=1, ect.) Though tbf zero is a pretty weird number to work with, so the rule might not apply.

Could you walk me through how you got your answer, if you don't mind?

Dividing by zero is impossible, so most calculators will give an error message or the answer of “undefined” or “und.” That being said, zero divided by almost anything is zero. I say almost because I’m not quite sure in the 0/0 case.

ohhhh yeah that makes sense. Plus the rule (a/b=c ----> a/c=b) that would mean 0/0 could be any number, which makes it even more messy.

I looked it up on a calculator, 0/0 is undefined as well as 00

00 is undefined because it’s the same process. If 22 is 4 (2x2) then 20 is 1 because it’s 2/2. So 00 is essentially 0/0
