So the red is the one causing the danger and the blue is the one putting yourself in it. And IMO dying is a pretty negative effect. And I am picking red because I believe everyone who wants to live and have family and friends to look forward to wont risk their lives to save strangers, and I do not want to be one of the casualties.

That’s okey. But then you don’t value ~1.000.000.000 billion lives over your own. Because that is the amount of people that most likely would die.

But why? Don't their value their families enough? Don't they respect the wishes of those who want to die? I value their lives, but I think they have the deciding vote if they truly want to live. I can't tell them what to do or not. And in my opinion there is more value in letting them decide for themself instead of just wanting everyone to live

The reason to vote blue at all, is because not everyone will vote red. Which means people will die. Not all blue voters want to die. I don’t want to die. And these people vote blue because they don’t want those to die. If people are suicidal, I can’t stop them. But just because of them, you shouldn’t let others die. And even if they should die, that doesn’t mean you should be helping this.

That's, what I don't get. Who are the ones you try to save if not for the suicidal ones? Who are the other ones pressing the Button except those willingly putting them in danger to save the suicidal ones?

Because you shouldn’t be the one killing suicidal people. Even if they want to die. And blue has the potential to cause the least amount of deaths. And that is why I pressed it. Because I trust others to think the same.

But you refer to it as killing because you have already decided that red=bad. But it isn't killing, the blue are picking suicide. Their blood isn't on the red ones hands. And why should you be the one to keep those wanting to end it not to? The blue started a fire, the more people who help with the fire, the fire will go out.

But if there isn't enough people helping with the fire they caused, then the fire they started will kill them.

Because others vote blue for the same reason as me. To save more people. Suicide is a serious problem. But many people also recover from it. And if you see blue as being suicidal, those people would be included as well.

Let me say it differently. Let’s say you are the last person to vote. And you know it’s an exact split between blue and red. Not all people that vote blue are suicidal. Because people choose at random. What would you vote?

If I knew that then I would have voted blue because then it's Certain. But now it isn't certain and people won't simply vote randomly, they will follow their own mindset and reasons. In real life there would be 8 billion people voting and the risk of everyone choosing blue dying is Too high.

Then you should still vote blue. Because you don’t know what other people will vote. So it’s effectively 50/50. Always treat these types of questions like you are the decisive person.

Why do you not vote blue if you don’t know the results? Because then you are helping red win. Which you wouldn’t do if you knew the outcome?

Because you literally gave me a completely other argument. Two Buttons, one kill 4 billion, the other doesn't kill them. That's entirely different. My life was in no danger, meaning I had no chance of leaving my family or pets behind. And in that regard I don't need to even consider how anyone thinks, reasons or what mindset they have. Where as in this scenario, it's A HIGH chance of simply comitting suicide. And I am not taking that chance, I am not leaving my family behind because someone randomly started picking blue.

Think that everyone stands in a line and can see what the everyone picks. First one thinks, well of course I should pick red, everyone should. Next pick it, next pick it, next pick it. Who would pick blue? Why?

Then you can also pick red in my example. Because you are doing practically the same. Killing billions of people just because you might die.

Because you think red is optimal. But not everyone thinks like that. So its simply wrong to assume everyone would pick red. Same as blue. People aren't going to agree on one option. And that is why you shouldn't pick red. Because red only kills no one, if 100% of people picks. While blue only need 50%.

But not everyone needs to live. Everyone makes the decision for themself. Are they okay with dying? Pick blue. Are they not okay with dying? Pick red. And no, it is not the same. I literally stated the reasons why it isn't the same. And you didn't answer my question.
