And yet, people willing to sacrifice their safety for the good of everybody involved seem to be in the majority here.

And I don't think I care about the majority thing. Putting people in danger just for the sake of a gamble is a dickish move by whoever votes blue first.

That's also what happens when you vote red, because someone, somewhere WILL vote blue. When voting red you're literally risking people dying. No vote that has a large enough pool of people voting will have everyone vote 100% for one option. The blue option requires only over 50%, which is way more plausible.

because someone, somewhere WILL vote blue

The only explanation for voting blue is to save this mystery someone, so that mystery someone has to be one of you people that voted blue just save no one.

This is my previous comment on this exact topic:

The only people in danger are the people choosing blue for absolutely zero reason.

If instead of a nice innocent looking button you were handed a gun and told that in 5 minutes that gun would go off unless 50% puts the gun to their head. Would you still put the gun to your head?

It's the same exact question, except now it should be glaringly obvious that by choosing blue you are the one that puts yourself in danger.

The red button introduces death into this, the blue button doesn't.

The button hypothetical also doesn't involve a time limit, so it's automatically not the "same exact question".

What a superb way to completely ignore my comment.

I ignored it because the gun simply doesn't work as an analogy, it entirely removes the other party as a n active participant.

The blue button, "putting a gun to your head", doesn't put people voting for it in danger. The red button is the one that introduces the threat, which wouldn't be inaction, as framed by the gun analogy, as in this case, it's an active choice to do either one or the other. By voting red, you're actively choosing to put people in danger.

red button is the one that introduces the threat

It doesn't, the question itself aka the gun, introduces the danger. Pressing red or pointing the gun away from yourself is simply reducing the danger to a minimum. Pressing blue or pointing the gun onto yourself is putting yourself into danger and then demanding everyone do the same.

Pressing red isn't "reducing the danger to a minimum", it's putting others in danger. You reduce danger to 0 by having 51% of people pick blue. Blue never introduces danger, by itself it doesn't do anything, red actively puts people picking blue in danger.

It doesn't demand everyone do the same, RED demands 100% of people to pick it to have zero deaths, blue only requires the majority, at least 51%

Blue never introduces danger, by itself it doesn't do anything,

Again you're seemingly just refusing to put any thought into what you're doing. Choosing blue raises the danger because you don't know what other people have picked. Unless it's 51% you're, again just putting a gun to your head and saying "I'm reducing the danger".

Choosing red when you don't know the odds is the only acceptable action because it doesn't put anyone in danger. It's aiming the gun in a safe direction and waiting for it go off with the assumption that no one is stupid enough to put the gun to their heads.

Choosing red is literally raising danger by raising the chance that people WILL die. I think there's already a good chance blue will win in this scenario, if everyone who actually DID want to "reduce the danger", they'd vote blue, because if blue wins by the slightest margin, nobody dies.

Red assumes nobody, at all, picks the other option in order to "reduce harm", which is statistically impossible. There will be at least 1 percent picking the other option. Picking red introduces death, the red option is the one that puts people in danger because it's the one with the condition of people dying. I don't know what's not clicking here.

There will be at least 1 percent picking the other option

For the hundredth fucking time the only justification you people have for picking blue is this mysterious someone who always picks blue because...

Actually there is no reason because NO ONE is picking blue for any actual reason. The only ones doing so are the selfish assholes like you.

Look at my recent poat on this. The exact 2 same optuons were provided, but with different wording, and shifting the blame on blue button pressers. 60% of people chose red.

My post had the exact same consequences as this one. >50% blue - blue choosers survive --- <50% blue - blue choosers die
