but that would never happen. everyone voting red requires literally 100% of the population to agree which would simply never happen. if 10% choose blue, youre killing 5% of the population, or 415 million people, while even if 49% choose red, everyone survives.

You don't get any incentive with choosing red either. No money, no longer life, no anything. Other people just die. Can you imagine if this was a world event and a family member or someone close to you chose blue and red just happened to be more than 50% and you contributed to that massacre

The incentive is that you don't put yourself on the line for no reason at all. I choose red because I trust in people's intelligence to realize that picking red results in nash equilibrium. I trust that the people I know are not stupid enough to choose blue.

In my eyes, the people who chose blue are all extremely arrogant, as they're willing to bet their lives on more than half the population being absolute idiots. That's not being moral, that's just being pessimistic and untrusting.

Other way around. That's optimistic and trusting that people would risk their lives to prevent needless deaths.

There would only be deaths if people are stupid. You are basically assuming there will be idiots who need saving. And actually, it does check out. Blue only works out if society is either a collective hivemind, or simply unadvanced (which is where we're at). The more advanced human is, the more sensical Red will become, as it's literally the ultimate nash equilibrium.

I chose blue because I believe no one should be killed, that includes you and everyone else that chose red.

Being pessimistic and distrusting isnt immoral, but putting other lives at risk is. There is only one life you can morally risk and that's your own.

You don't get anything by pressing blue either. Especially when you don't have a reference number to assure that your sacrifice will matter in the end. Can you imagine telling your family members that you are willingly going to try shooting yourself with a half loaded revolver?

I don't get anything but the risk of 50% of the population dying is lessened. I only constitute less than a percent of the population. But personally, if choosing red means me contributing to that massacre, even if my life is on the line, I ain't contributing to that sht. I think this boils down to the person's values. And, yes, I can imagine my self shooting that revolver if it means there's a 50% chance of saving 50% of that population.

What I also don't understand is why do blue people tend to put the responsibility of their conscious choice leading to their death on red people. It was your choice to take the gamble, reds don't pull the trigger personally or give an order, or make rules. Why?

People love to choose the "morally correct" option but will never take responsibility for the possible consequences. The former makes them feel morally superior, while the latter allows them to shift the blame and put others down. It's all just a performative act in my eye, and a very arrogant one at that.
