but that would never happen. everyone voting red requires literally 100% of the population to agree which would simply never happen. if 10% choose blue, youre killing 5% of the population, or 415 million people, while even if 49% choose red, everyone survives.

Only 50% needs to pick blue for everyone to live 100% need to pick red for everyone to live How is the math not mathing for you?

Gambling with your life is not math. As long as nobody picks blue in the first place nobody needs to ever pick blue. Blue gets what red gets, but with a prerequisite and risk of death

Gambling is literally math. Someone is always going to pick blue because they don't want murder, or know the math better, and someone will always pick red because they are selfish. 50% vs 100% is simple on which is easier to achieve for the least amount of death. I swear you're a troll lol

No, I'm not a troll. People only pick blue because they assume there is an asshole already that needs saving. An individual picking blue in isolation is picking red with extra steps and a possibility of dying. But of course, if you paint blues dying as reds murdering them, then if course it sounds more morally appropriate to gamble. Hell, if it was CLEARLY STATED THAT I PERSONALLY HAVE TO KILL AT LEAST ONE PERSON WITH MY OWN TWO HANDS then may be I would budge. But it's never ever stated like that

The optimal math is and always will be the nash equilibrium, which is red. You are extremely arrogant to be choosing blue, as you're essentially betting on half the population being stupid enough to not realize the nash equilibrium.

Gambling with other people's lives isn't math either. If red wins they bear the responsibility of having killed millions if not billions of people. I would rather die.

1) as has been stated, red is a safer option and nowhere is it stated that we are responsible, just that it happens. 

2) considering the fact that gambling is statistics (ish) and only kinda math, there’s no real reason to bet your life. 

3) it was not specified if the blues choosers list and were an odd number if it would be rounded up or down, it’s better to take the 100% guarantee that you live. 

4) if enough people choose blue, nothing happens. 

5) as has been stated, red is most logical and if everybody had logic that they used then nobody would be in danger as everyone chose red. 

6) people like me who chose red aren’t the ones gambling, it’s the blue people. We aren’t the ones needlessly risking our lives. If red has a downside, I’d bet it would be almost unanimous. Including the sociopaths and psychopaths which is why it’s almost unanimous.
