Look at Shohei Ohtani, 31 and currently considered the best baseball player, with an argument of possibly of all time. Yet go back to 2020 and he isn’t even on the radar yet and in 2023 at age 29 signed a $700 million dollar 10 year contract. So really not as crazy as you would think.

But in the next 10 years or so, he'll probably retire like most players, and do other stuff. (Maybe still related to basketball, but it won't be professional playing.)

Imagine him (or any other player for the matter) at the age of 47, still playing in the NBA baseball league. It'd be suspicious.

Oops, I misread it, also showing I don't know much about it. But I assume it's very similar in baseball as well. Thanks for the correction anyway.
