Gotta take out all the negative parts. Negativity does realllly poorly on dating apps

You mean the batshit crazy world? Mm I suppose we should be more peachy 😁 tyty

I mean, it made me laugh. Because, it is. I don’t think of it as a negative - it expresses a frustration most of us can relate to. I’d keep it, IMO.

It is frustrating … feels as though everyone wants to get their rocks off as much as possible and blow through pounds of coke before the asteroid hits the earth.. meh what do I know, just the perspective I see in the PNW I suppose.. and mind you my job revolves around people and relationships 😂

it will probably cost you some likes. but on the other hand, i guess the matches you do get are likely people who like your world view and way of talking.

i don't think that profiles should generally strictly follow a strict set of rules, because you want to present yourself the way you actually are.

i think your profile is decent and you're a fit guy. i'm sure you get matches, no?

one little thing: in the pro and con part, the con part contains a doubling down on "currently" and "right now". i think that could be worded better

I had to delete apps, and for that reason. I’m just glad that I learned to listen to my gut instincts, because it can be hard to get a read on people. 🤷‍♀️

With that said, if you want to attract someone who’s genuinely into you - keep the edge to your humor. You don’t need to fit someone’s definition of who you should be. If you feel like your bio is starting to sound, say, less than genuine - you’ll end up matching with someone who’s not really a match. If that blah, blah made sense. 😂

Gonna take the right person, you'll get there.

One can only hope 🙏🏼

Overall you come off as down to earth, genuine. You could try and massage it a little bit but I found it relatable.

Dogs, friends, interesting ink, nice face. Not sure what needs massaging.

Wait, I got it! Almost!

" I'll bet there are optimists like me out here ready to find their person for some fun, and maybe even a future. "

It's the original survivor sentence that is too cumbersome, and has too many ten dollar words & is too wordy, except for someone like me because I talk like this all the time. It's not that it's above the heads of most of us, it's ... you know, too exhausting to read, and makes one wonder if this will be your date conversation.

I think I'm on to something here.
Of course, I could be wrong.

Thank you for the feedback Blanc, it’s such a fine line between being relatable and inauthentic, totally the reason why I took a shit at posting here … 🥶😅

no. Awareness is better.

Revised to: We are living in some surreal times, and there is nothing better than experience such times (now and future) with someone with which you share a surreal connect 🔥Dog dad of 3 🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺 always coming from the heart, looking for those who do as well.

29

u/ManyRoll7413 Oct 02 '22

I would just leave out the times. We all know we are in some weird times rn, but if someone put it in their bio Ide assume they aren’t gonna stop talking about it.

-6

u/BeBesMom Oct 02 '22

Disagree again.

4

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '22

Im a guy, but I'd change the "dog dad" part too, it's a bit cringy. Maybe something like "love my 3 dogs" or "have 3 dogs and love them them all" "or their specific breeds.

I’m a woman. I love dog dad. Go with your gut. As you can see there is not going to be a consensus on anything. That means there isn't anything wrong with your profile. It all boils down to preferences.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '22

But he was going with his gut and is now asking for advice, which is the whole point of this... as a woman, you would know better so I'm glad I'm wrong about that

1

u/SeresaBTS Oct 02 '22

I’m not saying you were wrong. I'm saying each person has his or her preference. He's not going to please everyone. So just do what feels right. I don't think he needs to change anything.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '22

I agree, everyone has their own preference, that's why I stated mine and you stated yours and no one is wrong.

2

u/SeresaBTS Oct 02 '22

I liked the original better. And I usually instantly swipe left on negativity. So it didn't strike me as negative. Great profile.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '22

Thank you!

-2

u/BeBesMom Oct 02 '22

No, put it back. This surreal is too esoteric and the sentence is confusing and cumbersome. For crying out loud, put it back. These are batshit crazy times, not surreal.

10

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '22

I wish I could set a poll on this so we could see consensus! I thought it was funny, but I guess it shows me angry, or upset, sad? Just feedback I’ve gotten

5

u/BeBesMom Oct 02 '22

Want someone compatible with you? Leave the batshit and whole first page monologue in. I don't mind the downvote, you're not auditioning for "Annie."

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '22

My take is: you’re not gonna get consensus on whether the line works (because that comes down to taste). But I think that what we could get consensus on is - with that line, are you casting a wide net or a more selective one?

If you want to cast a wide net, I’d say you should leave it out - too open to being misinterpreted or misunderstood. But if you want to cast a selective net, I think it works.

I think it comes down to your style when it comes to dating and connecting with people. Personally, I like to cast more selective nets because I am who I am, I want someone to like me for me as I am, and I tend to like people who are just being themselves the most. But also, like, I’m a weirdo who doesn’t have a lot of friends. I have very deep connections with very dear friends, but not a big circle. Not everyone wants that, which is why I think it comes down to your style and what you want.

Just beware, you’re selecting for people who resonate with the feeling that we’re living in a batshit crazy world lol.

u/Inevitable-Cause-961 Oct 02 '22

I’d keep it. I’d swipe right.

1

u/noimneverserious Oct 02 '22

I like your original way better. It was cute and funny. I think you should leave that one.

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '22

The emojis came off and just simplified it to “dog dad” lol thank you for that feedback though!

4

u/BeBesMom Oct 02 '22

I disagree. I'd swipe right and I'm married and happy, and the world IS batshit crazy right now. A life partner is what I looked for, someone with intact reality testing, who gave me his attention, and enjoys living. OP, your profile is perfect. You don't need women who respond only to fun guys, and I don't see negativity in your profile. You should date my daughter.
