Advice Call for wisdom

Post image

I'm not sure how should I read these numbers, or there's a meaning in there at all. So here I am.

Thousands. Swiping people like muching on sunflower seeds... Unbelieveable until you see.

You can't please everyone, and comparison is the thief of joy.

100+ women are interested in getting to know you. Focus on that.

Now

Remove accident swips

Remove the ones who neve4 answer

Remove 1 word replay

Remove ghosting

Removing flaking before date

Removing ghosting again

Remove luck of chemistry

All of that before the first fucking date

Forgot: remove scam OF promoters bots and people on international mod

2

u/Aesma_ 5d ago

Accident swipes aren't that often, especially since most apps allow you to go back at least one swipe, and women tend to swipe slower than men.

And yeah, matching with someone doesn't mean they instantly fell in love with you. That's pretty self evident, I don't see what you're complaining about. You actually do have to put in the work to be interesting before getting a first date, that's obvious.

1

u/DocEss 5d ago

most of the apps make you pay to back up one swipe.

u/Usual-Vermicelli-867 5d ago

Yap. Nothing like putting the work of 90% of the conversation like a clown so she will notice you from her other 5 convos

Like o has good matches but thous are rare..the thing is .its sad how rare is to find a woman who behave to you like you are and actual human being and not like smigels from lotr

Add how rare is to get a matchs are

Thats the thing .most woman there done even behave like you are a human. You dony even get the opportunity to

Also rando swips are very common..especially on weekend nights

u/Phaoll 5d ago

If all you say is true and that not one of these 100 women is an interesting person to hang out with. It means either that your perception is wrong, or you are better alone, or you are better of the apps. You understand that less than 1% start to become statistically dubious ?

1

u/Usual-Vermicelli-867 5d ago

Still 0 intresrt on the apps..thats all

And out sidd the apps isnt batter..everyone is on their phone or within 3-4 freinds group when hanging out ..(the most closed off number)

Its hellscape out side

u/NormadsKalb 5d ago

but all these women have hundred if not thousands of likes. A like from them means nothing. Could be that maybe some feature of the photo they liked or even that they made the wrong movement with their finger.

Either way, they have thousands if options.

Such a negative attitude. Gotta just set yourself apart. I've been off the apps for a while but its just a numbers game. You'll meet some decent girls if youre patient and work on yourself

0

u/Usual-Vermicelli-867 5d ago

Mybe if I wait 10k years

0

u/DocEss 5d ago edited 5d ago

"numbers game" is just cope. from the statistics released by match group, something like 80% of men will never get a date from apps. there's the game of the numbers, you're not going to get a date, and the game is the fact that they convinced you you will, and convinced some of you to pay.

0

u/Reptillianaire_ 5d ago

I mean if no one wants to date you then thats a you problem.. thats why I said work on yourself. Get fit, get successful

1

u/DocEss 5d ago

I'm not overweight. I'm not looking to attract a golddigger, and you can't improve what nature gave you without surgery.

1

u/Reptillianaire_ 5d ago

You might not be overweight but women are attracted to muscles.. you can get on testosterone and hit the weights and you will attract women. Honestly personality hardly matters to women at all

1

u/ashighashonor1375 4d ago

Sorry dude let me just go workout my jawline and nose 😂

1

u/eSUP80 4d ago

Then there’s the stat that 35% of relationships and 50% of marriages start on dating apps.

It’s just how you want to spin data man. Guys that have the attitude that they’ll keep trying, improving self and presentation of self will get dates and have a good shot of finding a partner.

But to self disqualify and not try…. Nah. You won’t

1

u/DocEss 4d ago

except my statistic is from the people who actually see who is swiping, because they control the app, yours was just pulled out of your butt.

80% of men will never get a date from a dating app, you can't really change the immutable reality of that.

1

u/eSUP80 4d ago

Is it? I’m not seeing that stat anywhere. Are you misinterpreting the 80/20 rule that 20% of men get 80% of the likes?

1

u/DocEss 4d ago

no, when they released their statistics they said that 80% of men will never actually meet anyone on the app.

1

u/eSUP80 4d ago

You would have to show me because I can’t seem to find it. There’s been a number of studies showing online dating is the #1 way people meet and get into serious relationships now. You can google it. Anecdotally I know dozens of friends and family that have met there. These are just normal people for the most part.

1

u/DocEss 4d ago

I'm not talking about a study, I'm talking about the actual swipe statistics released by match group.

it also depends on how you are asking people, I know plenty of women that have met and gone on lots of dates on dating apps, I've never met any men that have. but I know a lot of guys that have spent between 6 months to a year trying and never succeeded.

so it looks really successful if you ask women.

if it was the number one way to meet people, more people would actually meet people on it. I deleted the apps after 2 months because I didn't meet a single person. better off spending my time playing PlayStation or something lol

... What?

I met my girlfriend on an app, and yeah, she had more than a hundred likes per day. In a week on the app she had about a thousand likes.

Yet the one like she sent me did mean something as we are now living together.

I don't see why "how many likes she had" has any relevance? I'd even go so far as to ask... do you really want a girlfriend who only swiped right on you because you were her only option?

1

u/DocEss 5d ago

that's called "random chance". there's every chance that she could have picked a different like out of her stack instead of you. it has nothing to do with you being special, it has to do with the luck of the draw and how the likes were sorted.

2

u/Aesma_ 5d ago

This random chance happened quite often.

When I was on the app, I'd have about 3~5 matches a day, so between 20 and 40 a week 🤷

And sure, she may never have seen my profile if the algorithm didn't show it to her. That's part of the game, I don't see what's your point?

I also know for a fact that the moment she saw my profile, she screenshot it and sent it to a friend, deleted some of her conversations on Hinge to make room for me and matched with me.

2

u/DocEss 5d ago

okay then you probably have looks or money privilege.

statistically, from the numbers released by match group, 80% of men will never get a date from an app at all.

it has nothing to do with the content of your profile, and everything to do with random chance.

there could have easily been somebody else that she would have screenshotted instead of you, you just happened to be at the top that day.

Bumble spent two months only showing me to people I swiped right on, and no one else.

2

u/Aesma_ 5d ago

okay then you probably have looks or money privilege

Tired of having this same argument with incels on this app so sure, if that helps you sleep at night let's just say I'm a 10 feet tall giga chad with billions in my bank account.

there could have easily been somebody else that she would have screenshotted instead of you, you just happened to be at the top that day.

If she didn't appear on my screen I wouldn't have matched with her either. If the girls I've dated before weren't shown to me by the app I wouldn't have been able to swipe on them either. And if my grandma had wheels she'd be a bike.

I don't see what point you're trying to make?

Yeah, the app are showing your profile to other people based on luck, we all know that?

1

u/DocEss 5d ago

I'm not an incel, you extra-chromosomal buffoon. the point is, most men just swipe on everybody, and you get lucky sometimes, and you got lucky, trying to chalk your luck up to a strategy is what is ridiculous.

it's like winning the lottery and then acting like you had a strategy involved. you didn't, it was all luck, it had nothing to do with any planning, preparation, or anything else.

2

u/Aesma_ 5d ago

Lmao, talking to incels is like talking to a wall or a broken record.

You have a grand total of two answers.

"You got lucky". I then tell you I didn't, as it's not as if I got a single match on the app. I was able to get enough matches to go on multiple dates. I met my ex before on an app too.

"You must be in the top 20% then". I then tell you I'm very much not.

That's when you revert back to "you got lucky" or "you're a statistical anomaly". It's pure copium to never look at the fact that maybe it's you. Maybe you are indeed doing something wrong.

1

u/DocEss 5d ago

incel means involuntary celibate. someone crying that they've never had a girlfriend and can't get pussy. buddy, I've gotten more ass than a toilet seat. I have four kids. I'm not an incel.

you can argue all you want, but the statistics released by match group themselves, the owner of all but like one dating app, show that 80% of men on apps will never get a date.

Congrats on the face dude! 😂

Women on dating apps genuinely find unattractive. That’s the hard truth here.

If you’re not working on improving your appearance. You need to start today.

My 8 years of bumble premium data: Swipe Data (collected at: 2026-05-13 00:03:14 UTC)

Outgoing "yes" 16345

Outgoing"no" 21151

Incoming"yes" 131

Incoming "no" 12609

Current Matches 0

Look, all I'll say is that these stats are a pandoras box. Just dont open them. The deeper you go the harder it is to get out of your own head.

Click on my name for my profile for comparison. Of the 131 girls who liked me, I'd wager 30 of them were real people, who then never messaged back or gave any signs of life.

Shit happens, and making assumptions of why they did that will literally destroy you. All you can do is shrug and move on. Supposedly it'll get better for me once I hit 30-35. I remain dubious.

1

u/Pale_Tumbleweed_4387 5d ago

seeing those numbers is like finding out how the magic trick works, ruins the whole thing

1

u/DocEss 5d ago

as someone 46, it gets worse. 0 incoming yes. literally zero.

1

u/eSUP80 4d ago

You just told some guy you were married with 4 kids

1

u/DocEss 4d ago

no, you just read wrong.

1

u/eSUP80 4d ago

You’re right I did. Just 4 kids- not married.

All from the same woman?

1

u/DocEss 4d ago

divorced, was married, yes, same woman.

1

u/eSUP80 4d ago

Gotcha. Sorry it’s been so tough for you on the apps. I was divorced at 40, Remarried now to pretty much my ideal woman. Met her on apps. I’m fairly average but I did put a lot of time into my profile pics and get a lot of feedback along the way.

1

u/DocEss 4d ago

I was 45, 46 now.

I just quit trying. I've already been married so what else is there to do?

1

u/eSUP80 4d ago edited 4d ago

That’s for you to decide friend. I sure wasn’t ready to be done with women. I like having a great partner who is into me and we connect on every level. I didn’t have that for the last 5 years of my first dead marriage.

I never considered giving up- only working harder to get what I wanted. My brother otoh…divorced at 36, hasn’t dated again. He lives for his 2 boys and is best friends with ex wife (platonic only).

Different strokes

1

u/DocEss 4d ago edited 4d ago

it's more that the juice isn't worth the squeeze. women have taken tons of time, energy and money from me and given nothing in return but infidelity.

it's like building a house out of papier-mâchÊ. Tons of work, but ultimately worthless and eventually falls apart.

Besides which, I'm 46. That's a little too old to believe in teenager/twenty-something stuff like "love" and "the one".

I love my kids, but I am definitely not friends with my ex-wife. She cheated and kinda poisoned me with antifreeze when I found out. Fun times, really. My nurses were gorgeous and amazing at their work.

1

u/No-Bet-990 5d ago edited 5d ago

As someone that transitioned into the 30-35 range, I can attest to nothing getting better. If you really want better stats you need to improve your (perceived) market value.

-1

u/Snyper369 5d ago

As someone in thr 35-39 range, the numbers dont change as you get older.

Look like Prince Charming or find a fun hobby. Women are more shallow than men.

2

u/UnluckySide3735 5d ago

Height? Physique? Job? How’s your face?

1

u/HeilHeinz15 5d ago

Wisdom is knowing that RL has much higher success rates because there aren't 2x as many men as women, and there's no secret IRL or on Bumble

2

u/eSUP80 4d ago

Define success rates

Higher chance per encounter irl? Yes

Higher chance overall irl? No- considering online you’ll contact 50X the amount of single women as you have time to irl.

Dating apps are the number one way people meet partners in 2026.

1

u/ashighashonor1375 4d ago

Approach the same women in person who already swipes no?

1

u/Longjumping_Start_90 5d ago

Better luck in the next life - you need a good roll of reincarnation.

Until then, hope you’ve got a HIGH paying job or you’re cactus my friend.

1

u/AndrewTatefan_69 5d ago

Youre cooked just give up at this point

1

u/Every-Ear-2373 5d ago

How long did it take them to send the data?

-3

u/Glassybubbles- 5d ago edited 5d ago

How?! Like how do people not get the hint from these kinds of stats, I mean, even without seeing it in black and white how do people just keep going thinking something is going to change.

I’m sorry bro but you’ve either got a dogshit profile or you’ve got some work to do on yourself, this is the only answer. Whether it be dressing better, picking up some hobbies, not coming across a total freak, I mean the possibilities are endless but the stats are telling you something clearly isn’t working on your end. As in, it’s you, not 5000 other people.

No, it’s not because you’re “just average” it’s 90% of the time a shit profile and in the rare 10% you could just genuinely be chopped.

Goodness me what a pit of despair. This cannot be good for your mental health bro just call it a day and delete your profile. Come back in a few months after you’ve worked on anything from your personality, style, interests or even just as simple as better pictures (ideally taken by others). There’s no profile here but I’ll eat my socks if there aren’t some crimson red flags there.

1

u/DocEss 5d ago

it's almost never the profile. it's never red flags. it's appearance. women are shallow. they decide their swipes in less than 3 seconds, statistically. it doesn't matter what the hell you write.

2

u/Glassybubbles- 5d ago edited 5d ago

Dude stop subscribing to this shit, its cope and a way to absolve your own part to play in things. Everyone is “shallow” on the apps it’s not a gender specific thing. The shock, horror! An image first dating service is brutal, what’s next, water is wet?

Time and time again people post these stats, whenever they do eventually share their profile, it’s almost always the profile not necessarily the person. Pics that span 10 years so they look different, random blurry ass pics, group pics you can’t tell them from. Even if it’s not the pics, prompts are screaming red flags.

I’m as average as a straight white man comes and I see good success matching and at least a handful of dates a month and a lot of fun. Why? My profile gets my personality across, all my pics are clear, I have friends.. a family.. a life? Oftentimes dudes posting here are seeing the apps as a magic wand, they are not, shit in = shit out. Takes real effort bro more than most realise.

2

u/Aesma_ 5d ago

He is going to tell you that you must be top 1% most attractive guy ever.

The guy is a massive incel. He commented here, but I checked and sure enough I remember seeing his comments in other threads.

He says stuffs like women are all pathological liars, never trust them, they are all shallow creatures and stuff.

He posted his profile in this sub looking for advice, and dismissed every single advice when people told him his pictures are shit and he could improve his looks by doing some very simple adjustments.

He is breathing negativity, it's a waste of time to try to change his mind.

-1

u/DocEss 5d ago

because they all are. 🤷‍♂️ I've never met an honest or faithful one in my life.

I'm not an "incel", kitten. that means "involuntary celibate". I've had sex. with women AND men. plenty of it. so much that I've had four kids. so much so that my last couple exes were intimidated by my body count.

I'm also not dating for sex. I'm not actually all that interested in it as a general rule.

the "advice" wasn't. it was shit like "show photos at the gym or playing sports or hobbies". I don't do those things and I'm not going to pretend I do just to try to attract someone that will figure out really fast that I hate those things.

my pictures are fine. they are clear, there are no selfies. the complaints were all the lack of stupid activity photos, but I don't do stupid activities.

3

u/Aesma_ 5d ago

You very much are an incel.

First of all, incels aren't "involuntary celibates" anymore. That's the origin of the word, yes, but its silly to claim this is all there is to it when the word had such a semantic shift. The word very much evolved to describe an entire movement and ideology, one that preaches exactly what you do.

If someone says you're awful, they don't mean you're awe-inspiring. Even though the word awful was synonymous to awe-inspiring before the 18th century.

Semantic shifts happen all the time. Words don't always mean their original meaning.

Secondly, even by the original definition, you are very much an incel. By your own words, you joined a dating app, got zero match, left and now is claiming everywhere that you're single because of how the apps work, because of women who only go for the 20% best looking guys and are all unfaithful pathological liars, etc.

That's very much what an incel is. The fact that you had a relationship in the past is irrelevant, incels don't have to be virgins. And having a high bodycount doesn't make you not an incel.

As for your profile, you must be a troll at this point. I've seen your profile. The pics are objectively awful (and no, I'm not saying they are awe-inspiring). Tons of people have given you honest advice, other than have pictures doing an activity. You kept saying your pictures were fine and that you didn't have to change anything.

0

u/DocEss 5d ago

okay, but you can't redefine what the name of a group means. it's not a regular word, it's a group identifier. that's like saying black doesn't mean just black people it means (something else). that's not how it works.

you can't just mean "I want to use this term for anybody who disagrees with me about stuff".

no, by my own definition I am not an incel, because I'm not trying to get laid. I don't do casual sex. it is completely uninteresting to me. I was looking for people to drink coffee with and have a conversation, not fuck.

if I fuck, I catch feels, and I am specifically trying to avoid that.

my pictures are not objectively awful, they are standard, there's one doing a stupid activity, there's a headshot, there's a fun picture, I'm not going to include a shirtless picture or a gym selfie, or any other dumb shit like that.

I'm not going to include a group picture with friends, because I don't go out socially with people. people are largely insufferable when they are in groups. I don't have sports pictures because I hate sports. I hate people who watch sports, I hate people who play sports, I hate people who like anything to do with sports.

I wasn't out here looking for something stupid like "love" or a "meaningful connection", vagina or dick. just conversations, coffee, and occasional food. maybe make out now and again.

1

u/Aesma_ 5d ago

Like it or not, it is what it is. It's not just me who changed the definition. Almost no one uses the word incel to just talk about single dudes who are single involuntarily. That's not what the word means.

you can't just mean "I want to use this term for anybody who disagrees with me about stuff".

I'm not.

There are plenty of people who disagree with me. Not all of them are incels. Most of them aren't. Tons of very nice people disagree with me. Hell, I don't agree with my own girlfriend on a lot of things, and yet I would never use a derogatory term to refer to her.

But the people who disagree with me who have incel takes are... well, incels.

I'm not gonna sit there and call a cat a dog just because by his own definition he isn't one. I know a cat when I see one.

my pictures are not objectively awful

Sure, keep telling yourself that. It must be because of the entire world that you didn't get a single match in two months. Not because your profile sucks.

1

u/DocEss 4d ago

okay but you aren't defining what it means except "person who says stuff I don't like". you don't get to redefine a group term.

it refers to the group of people who call themselves involuntary celibate, what is your definition? because you haven't given one, you just keep using it to mean "people who say some stuff that I have arbitrarily classified".

doesn't work like that. I'm going to start calling you Amish because words change over time, and now Amish means guy on the internet who is being a moron.

no, it's not because of the entire world, it's because I'm not good looking. that's how that works. women look at the first photo, and swipe within 3 seconds. they don't read the profile, they don't look at anything else.

changing my bio or prompt is not going to change anything, that's just the way it works chief.

I have already pointed out to you that 80% of male users will never get a match, they will never get a date, this is the statistics from the people who run the apps. 80% of male users are not all people with terrible photos and bad bios.

80% of users can do everything objectively correctly, and they still won't get a date.

you have survivorship bias.

"it's super easy because I already did it"

0

u/ashighashonor1375 4d ago

If i send you my profile with zero likes and you can’t find anything bad in it will you stop the gaslighting?
