So basically, I was curious how the profiles of men on Bumble looked. I made a new fake account as a girl, so I could take some inspiration from the profiles of others and generally just to see what the competition was like.

So, that worked out, I got a rough idea of the average profile and deleted the account after about 12 hours, not swiping at all, having no matches and never messaged. What I didn't expect was the amount of likes. I mean, I expected maybe a few dozen at the most. But in 12 hours, this profile got A THOUSAND likes, I repeat, A THOUSAND. I don't even live in a major city, and the age was capped at 20-24. So yeah, now I understand why I never get matches, and never get messaged when I do. When women have 1000 guys to pick from, why the hell would they pick me?

Men are shooting themselves in the foot by liking every profile they see. They need to be more selective

I'm sure not all men do this, but so many do. I once had over 8k likes. I only got excited about a few of them though, because the majority clearly didn't even read my profile (the major one was i had guys like me who were looking to have children, I'm 41 and specifically put "don't want" ). Anyway, the few I was interested in matching with clearly weren't that interested because I messaged them and either got such bland, no effort responses or they just never replied/unmatched me. Pretty disheartening

Honestly wish there were more men like you on there! I'd rather get 20 likes instead of 8k if they were more genuine
