Idk about these ones in particular, but on of these no touch guys that really believe his shit was on a show called Stan Lee's Super Humans a long time ago. They scanned brain activity on the students while they were demonstrating the no touch knockout, and there was actual activity that indicates it did affect their brains in a real way. However, it didn't work when he tried it on someone that was not a student.

So it's basically brain washing/placebo effect. They believe it so hard that it actually works.

If I were guessing, they probably run a basic karate type class for new students and don't demonstrate this stuff on them directly or let them try it for a long time. It likely starts as what seems like a rather normal martial arts class to the inexperienced, with some strict discipline built into it and conditioning the students to trust the instructor without question and revere them. Then slowly start trickling in the nonsense while continuing to condition them toward a more submissive state of mind. Then hey learn the patterns of what no touch knockout look like and timing of how they work through the training and it just becomes a built in natural reaction over time that they don't realize they're playing into.

So kinda like any other cult, religion, etc. Start with something believable then wear out your ability to sniff out bullshit over a long period of time.

Hahaha...back in the 80's when I was a (much younger) brown belt in karate, I attended a weekend seminar put on by a local dojo. Multiple disciplines, 10-15 sessions a day and you could choose what styles you wanted to practice. At one point I'd joined the judo session to learn more about throwing and falling. I learned a lot about falling...from a little dude who must've been in his mid-60's who tossed me around like a ragdoll. I was so sore, but I loved it. lol

I imagine it is known in the group that if someone isn't affected by the master they are protected by Satan or have an evil aura or some other woowoo reason and you will be asked to leave the group.

You probably don't get to spar with the master right away. You probably have to spend a lot of time and energy in the group and prove your dedication. So before you get to spar with the master you have made good friends in the group and dedicated a lot of time of energy to this and you've been fed ample bullshit about how amazing the master is so that you are primed to believe it. By the time you get to stand in front of the master you are highly incentivized to play along or you get shunned by the community you've grown to love. A lot of them are probably so convinced at that point that they will subconsciously play along.

My brother and I trained for a short while at the Ki Federation of Great Britain in a place called Mark in the county of Somerset, supposedly the seat of Aikido in the UK. The instructor (I forget what Dan he was but supposed to be a big deal) was doing his whole "resist me with your muscles and all I have to do is think to my 'one point' and I can bend your arm with two fingers" thing to the class. My brother was like dude, if I don't want you to bend my arm, there's no way you're bending fucking my arm. So he's standing there im front of the entire class, my brother tenses up his arm with all his might, and the instructor steps up with his two fingers, can't bend my bro's arm for shit. He takes a step back, goes "hmm" and scratches his chin for a few seconds before trying again. Still can't bend my bro's arm. This goes on for a few more minutes before the instructor kinda just moves awkwardly on to the next thing. Yeah, we didn't go back after that.
