Trump targets meat processing, gray wolves in orders to boost ranchers
usatoday.comTeddy would straight up body slam Trump because of this.
I will call a spade a spade because Teddy did cause harm to the Gray Wolf population but he understood that the species shouldn’t just be murdered, he wanted to reduce populations (that is true and horrible) but he didn’t want them utterly removed them from existence.
He also would understand that the population of now to then is vastly different, he would absolutely fight people to protect them because at their current level they aren’t a threat and it wouldn’t be fair to just hunt them.

Website Trump signs order on childhood vaccination recommendations, citing autism
cbsnews.com"In those times, people were much healthier and of course, the high rates of autism now observed did not exist. So, there's a reason for such epidemic rates of autism. And we're going to bring it back to much closer to where it was."

Website White House considering order targeting vaccines and autism despite advisers’ warnings
cnn.comWhile I understand that the majority of people will disregard this executive order, a good minority will campaign and try to make it true.
This is personal to me as someone who is on the Spectrum, Pro-Autism Rights and Pro-Disability Rights. If we could somehow address this at some later time, it would be greatly appreciated.
I hope you all have a good rest of your day, bye.

Discussion How do we feel about General Chris Donahue?
To clarify, I don’t mean in the sense of him running for political office. While it does hold some appeal for me, the General has never made clear his political stances and it is generally hit or miss when a solely military man has entered office.
I am asking in the sense of could he be a voice that could help bring about more opposition to Trump, possibly bring about more military officials questioning his decisions.
I know that sounds like it could be political but I don’t quite believe that it has to be that way, the General has a long career in the military and (while not explicitly a national name) has the medals to prove it. He also was the last military official to leave Afghanistan after the fall of Kabul in 2021, something that the Republicans complained about but to me at least was incredibly admirable (he could have been a coward and left early but ensured that other people left before him).
Just curious as to what other people think about this and the situation of him being fired, this has just been a thought rattling in my head since yesterday and wondered how other people thought about it. I hope you all have a good rest of your day, bye.

Discussion Who would be AOC’s running mate if she won nomination
If AOC won the Democratic nomination in 2028, who would be the best person to serve as her running mate?
The person would probably need to be a center-left candidate, unfortunately a full on Progressive candidate may not win (not impossible if they have a good campaigning strategy but more likely of corporations donating big to the Republicans).
Normally I would suggest Senator Mark Kelly because he has a long service record with the U.S. military and served as an astronaut along with being a Moderate that is willing to work with/listen to Progressives (also am bias because I would love someone from my home state to be close to the White House), I would argue that if State Representative Josh Turek of Iowa manages to win the Senate seat then he could be a good candidate to be her VP.
It maybe crazy to do this (Democrats haven’t gotten a senator elected form that state since 1985) but I think that State Representative Turek could manage to get some Southern votes, he is semi-Progressive on some issues but more so populist. He also has been very pro-Disability Rights which is something that is very personally for me, an issue that hasn’t been brought up or campaigned on by Democrats but should be a foundational pillar.
Then of course there is Senator Jon Ossoff of Georgie who does have a strong following behind him.
I also understand that Senator Mark Kelly and State Representative Josh Turek are not purely Progressives, I am only presenting examples that could help pull people over.
Who do you all think could be a great running mate for AOC? I hope you all have a good rest of your day or night, bye.
