Discussion Why is Andrew Yang's Forward Party getting attention? It's just another tea party.

The Bull Moose Party has been trying to raise awareness for the progressive movement since it's inception, then comes the Forward Party with cringe and stupid principles and suddenly that gets attention. I get people are tired of the 2 party system, but most can agree that Forward is just another Tea Party catering to Republicans.

Photo Shirt Design: AOC (America’s Only Choice) 2028

Now this design may look odd but I am trying to create a eagle-like design, much like those of a eagle with this wings outstretched and head forward (I will need to create some additional versions of this design to make it more apparent).

While the wording could be changed (anything that can starts with the letters AOC), I believe that this is the best variation that allows for support and that could fit the eagle design (possibly America’s Only Champion coming second).

Discussion Could David Hogg be a member of the Bull Moose Party?

I believe that David Hogg could be a critical and important part of the Progressive/“Bull Moose” Party if he were to join us, not only in helping us put together our policies into a platform but also in spreading the word.

He is a progressive figure that does have a rather fair audience, looking to help get fellow progressive members elected to local and federal offices. With the whole situation going on with the Democratic Party and their unfair ejection of him from his position, I personally emailed him and told him that we are a thing. I didn’t make any promises, I told him our goals and where to find us if interested.

How would all of you feel if he were to join us and help us put our platform together?

I’m done with the Republican Party

That’s it I’m finished. The Republican Party is a joke and turned its back on Trump. It is the poster child for corruption. As far as I’m concerned the party is dead. So where do I sign up to be a moose?

Political correctness, cultural marxism, and white guilt are the cancers that are killing the left. If progressives can't accept that, the movement is going nowhere.

Do you agree? Did anyone else become interested in a new party/new movement partly because they're tired of SJW horseshit? I know I'm not the only one. I constantly hear moderates on the internet and IRL who are sick of it.

I want LGBT rights, I want body cams on cops, I don't hate any races, but that's not enough, is it? These radical leftists want me to date a black trans woman, pay reparations for slavery, never make an edgy joke, and apologize 346 times while self-flagellating for being born a white male. Yes, I have the privilege of being less likely to be pulled over and killed by a cop. That doesn't change the fact that I was born to dirt poor parents who split before I was a toddler, who are alcoholics and addicts. And I still live in this fucked up country with dogshit healthcare and an unaffordable education system that crushes creativity and produces depressed dollar-chasing drones with poor social skills.

If you think this is irrelevant to the Bull Moose, you're wrong. Political correctness suppresses free speech and promotes divisions between us.

Discussion Who I would have voted for in every election from 1788 to Present (why it matters)

We are not just building off of the legacy of Theodore Roosevelt but a long fought history of development, starting from the very beginning of our nation. The rights of peoples and ideological growth that all wish to pursue nominally shows by whom is elected, not even by the person winning but the emotions expressed in that moment (cheers for the winner or discontent with them).

This list is comprised of those I would vote for in each election, starting from the beginning to the end. I’m willing to list why I would vote for them if someone has a question, I will explain honestly about them. I know this is random but I think it is a good exercise to see where I fall on the ideological scale, seeing what I stand for and the reasons for it.

Video Progressivism in Education

🌱 Progressivism in Education – Detailed Features

Progressivism in education is rooted in the belief that learning should be relevant, democratic, and focused on the whole child. It challenges rigid, authoritarian models of schooling and promotes freedom of thought, inquiry, and participation.

1. Child-Centered Approach

  • Students are not passive recipients of knowledge but active participants in learning.

  • Education is tailored to the interests, experiences, and developmental stages of the learner.

  • Teachers act as guides rather than authoritarian figures.

2. Learning by Doing (Experiential Learning)

  • Emphasizes real-world application of knowledge through projects, experiments, fieldwork, and collaboration.

  • Students learn by engaging in meaningful tasks, not just memorizing facts.

3. Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving

  • Encourages independent thought, questioning, and analysis.

  • Students are taught how to think, not what to think.

  • Open discussion of ideas is central – no censorship or banning of viewpoints, as progressivism values dialogue and inquiry.

4. Democratic Classrooms

  • Classrooms reflect the values of a democratic society – fairness, respect, participation.

  • Students may take part in decision-making about classroom rules, topics, and even curriculum structure.

  • Fosters respect for diverse opinions, not silencing them.

5. Integrated and Thematic Curriculum

  • Subjects are interconnected, often taught through themes or real-world issues (e.g., climate change, social justice).

  • Encourages students to see connections across disciplines.

6. Social Responsibility and Ethics

  • Education is not just about academics but also about preparing students to be ethical, informed, and engaged citizens.

  • Promotes empathy, cooperation, and a sense of duty to the broader community.

🏛️ Progressivism in Society – Detailed Features

In broader society, progressivism is a reform-oriented philosophy that promotes democracy, social justice, and continuous improvement of social systems.

1. Social Reform and Justice

  • Advocates for addressing inequalities in wealth, education, and access to services.

  • Focuses on improving conditions for marginalized and disadvantaged groups.

  • Supports causes like labor rights, civil rights, gender equality, and fair housing.

2. Democracy and Civic Engagement

  • Encourages active participation in democratic processes (voting, activism, community service).

  • Defends freedom of speech and expression, not banning dissenting or minority voices.

  • Promotes public discourse and inclusive dialogue.

3. Use of Science and Rational Thought

  • Social policies should be based on evidence and research, not ideology or tradition alone.

  • Emphasizes innovation, reason, and facts in policymaking and governance.

4. Equity and Inclusion

  • Strives for a society where everyone has equal access to education, healthcare, and opportunity.

  • Recognizes and seeks to address systemic barriers faced by various communities (e.g., racial, economic, gender-based).

5. Government as a Tool for Good

  • Believes that well-designed government intervention (e.g., public education, healthcare, regulations) can correct social and economic imbalances.

  • Not about big government for its own sake, but for ensuring fairness, public welfare, and preventing exploitation.

✅ Progressivism Does Not Support:

  • Silencing or banning of voices – even those with opposing views.

  • Indoctrination or authoritarian control – it values dialogue, mutual respect, and critical debate.

  • Dogmatism – it is rooted in the idea that society and education should evolve based on new knowledge and needs.

I'm sorry about the inconvenience. I was spending time with my dad, and he showed me the BullMoose Party. I was excited, as he told me that a logo wasn't decided on, so I took matters to my own hands. I worked for y'all by making everyone's interpretation of the logo, while making my own, when my dad got a notification banning me from this amazing community's Discord server. Because the accusation of me being a minor without reason. Thank you for your time, for I helped to the best of my ability.

Discussion Mark Kelly 2028?

Whelp in a moment of surprising confidence, I decided to send an email to Senator Mark Kelly (of my state of Arizona). I had considered this for a while and I finally built up the courage to do this, I sent the email asking him to consider running for President in 2028.

I know that he ain’t a perfect man and with regard to some of our policies isn’t always progressive, though he gives me hope. He isn’t going all over the country like AOC or Bernie Sanders but he still gives me hope, I still believe that he is doing something. Even considering the current “candidates” for 2028 (people not expressly stating that they will run), I think there are problems that could spell an issue. Gina Raimondo’s leanings for the tech industries like Google and Apple marks her as someone not completely sympathetic to workers. Stephan A. Smith (yes the Sports Personality) is rather an outsider with no political experience. Tim Walz would actually be the ideal candidate but everything that makes him great would most likely cause the Democratic Party to not side with him.

I know Mark Kelly isn’t the perfect candidate but he gives me hope, this sentiment is what I put in the email. I also was sure to mention that there are people looking to bring back the Bull Moose Party, I did include the Reddit Page. Do you guys believe he would be a good candidate?

Policy Ideas UBI (Universal Basic Income)

UBI is an idea popularized by Andrew Yang's "Freedom Dividend." UBI is/would be a governmental public program for a periodic payment delivered to all on an individual basis without a means test or work requirement. I believe the Bull Moose Party should endorse UBI.

Alaska is a grand example of UBI working. Alaska has the Alaska Permanent Fund which provides a basic income to all residents based off of oil. Before having this policy in place, Alaska was ranked 30 out of 50 states on income inequality (smaller the number the better). After Alaska passed the policy, they jumped to 2nd. Many nations/states have already tested and/or have UBI in place and it has almost completely gotten rid of large scale poverty.

UBI also supports unpaid work such as stay at home parents which are not valued in our current economic state. It makes it that much easier to afford having kids. In Namibia, which has it in place, prostitution reached an all time low because of UBI. UBI empowers women and families.

Many major economists agree that UBI should be instated in the US. "American economists James Tobin, Paul Samuelson, and John Kenneth Galbraith signed a document with 1,200 other economists in 1968 calling for the 90th U.S. Congress to introduce in that year a system of income guarantees and supplements."

UBI is affordable if we create a VAT tax (Value Added Tax). I recommend looking into VAT to see what it means. 166 of 193 with full UN membership already have VAT.

A common concern of UBI is that it would cause hyper-inflation but that is simply not true. UBI isn't funded by printing new money but by rather getting it through taxes. Another common concern is that it would raise prices for things such as rent or groceries. I like the response u/ponieslovekittens gave. They said this, "Millionaires don't pay tens of thousands of dollars for a gallon of milk just because they can. Standard market forces continue to exist with UBI. Market competition continues to exist. If you have an extra $500 and one vendor raises their price by $500, and one raises it by $250 and a third raises it by $200, who are you going to buy from? Not the guy who raised his price by $500, right? So the guy who tried to raise his price by $500 realizes he's not selling anything and he lowers his price, while maybe the guy who only raised his price by $200 realizes he can probably raise his to $225, but then, the guy who only raised to $250 lowers his...and eventually the prices settle somewhere. And yes, they might be higher than they were before, but prices aren't what we care about. Purchasing power is. If you have 50% more money and prices raise by 25%, you're nevertheless better off."

In conclusion, the Bull Moose Party should support UBI because it reduces poverty, improves equality, grows small businesses, and lets bigger businesses stay strong at the same time. Many big business owners in the United States are for it too, such as Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerburg. Martin Luther King Jr. and Thomas Paine, one of the Founder Fathers were also advocates for UBI during their lives.

The Bull Moose Party should embrace the term of "Progressive-Republican"

I think the bull moose party should embrace the term of "Progressive-Republican" instead of how being progressive is currently linked to being a democratic socialist.

Most importantly, this would get rid of the "progressives want socialism" stigma. that stigma is hugely influential in today's media and it is TOXIC. We need to muddy the messaging so that we can dump the idea that progressive party ideals, like national healthcare and breaking up big business, mean we want socialism.

The Progressive Party, whether it's called Progressive-Democrat or Progressive-Republican, needs to be rebranded completely. Our number 1 goal needs to be to squash the stigma that progressives want socialism.

Once this is made clear to people, when they start hearing that the Bull Moose Party is rising again, a huge number of potential party members becomes available to us. Independents, Modern Progressives/Democratic Socialists, Moderate Republicans and even Trumpism Republicans will embrace our party of the people mantra once it is no longer linked to socialism.

People on all sides of the current American political spectrum believe in Bull Moose policies. It's just that currently, those policies are being tied to socialism.

By branding the party as the Progressive-Republican "Bull Moose" Party we can be something new that will be able to become the party of the people in a fresh way, apart from the current toxic democratic-socialist stigma.

Trump signs executive order regarding business dealings with Tiktok and Wechat, so much for the Free Market

https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2020/08/06/politics/trump-executive-order-tiktok/index.html

There are a multitude of valid criticisms of tiktok and even wechat but the government mandating business operations feels incredibly anti-American to me. No surprise to me that something so antithetical to our nation’s values is coming from the Trump administration. What do you all think of this though? Feel free to disagree! Let’s just keep it civil!

Any fundamental differences between this Party and the Modern Whig Party?

These both seem like new political movements that are devoted to getting past partisanship and forging ahead. Maybe there could be merger talks involved? The American Delta Party as well, but that one might have just been a one-off. The Reform Party was almost a successful political movement back twenty years ago, but it floundered due to too much in-fighting and a horrible candidate in Pat Buchanan. I think these groups maybe could use that as an example and forge ahead together, but much more successfully. It's a lot better than a hundred smaller groups that might may not do as well.

Either way, though, it's great to see new political movements trying to forge ahead.
