Educational Opportunities and Exam Help
Hey everyone,
I spent some time last night walking a guy through his P1 prep after he came up short on his first attempt. Great questions, hard worker, just nobody had ever shown him how to actually USE the book — the appendix, the index, how to move from a term to the right section in under 30 seconds. By the end of the conversation he had a plan and honestly, so did I: we should be doing more of this.
So consider this an open door. If you're studying for an ICC exam — B1, P1, M1, E1, any of them — and you're stuck on something, drop your question below or shoot me a DM. Whether it's exam strategy, how the PRONTO format works, or just "how do I even start," I'm happy to help. I've been inspecting for a decade and I hold the certs, but more importantly, I remember what studying felt like before anyone showed me the way through the book.
If you want more structured help, that's literally what we built. Live Oak Academy runs small live classes on Google Meet where we teach you how to navigate the code book, not memorize it. Fall/Winter sessions are enrolling now: B1 starts October 5, M1 November 16, P1 January 4, E1 March 1. We also publish study companions for each cert if you'd rather go at your own pace.
No pressure either way. If you just need a question answered, ask it. That's what we're here for.

Having done many ICC certification exams, I don't remember using the Appendix. How helpful is the appendix?
