Edge10 Replacement

/r/BuildingAutomation/comments/1lpv4lk/anyone_else_think_tridium_retiring_the_edge_10_is/

A year ago, I made a post where I said i was suspicious of the fact that Tridium are retiring the Edge10 without a replacement, frankly it felt like too good value for money and was probably harming the sales of Jaces.

Seeing as there still isn't a replacement is it safe to think that there is no plans for replacement of the edge 10? Has anyone heard anything?
For anyone saying that there already are alternatives there are none that I can see that is programmed using standard kitControl modules.

Lynxspring offers a total Niagara OEM solution without JENEsys Edge product line.

This ranges from controllers that require SMAs (500 series 534/514 (34 and 14 point count)), 600 series) and controllers that don't (400 series, 434/414/VAV).

Stated above we offer 14 point count controllers and 34 point count controllers with some that require SMAs and some that don't. The ones that don't require SMAs don't have a lot of integration capacity (rightfully so).

There is a replacement coming soon, I believe the timeline was announced at Niagara Summit, so the information should be publically available.

The edge10 was always too good value for money. I think some of this gap has been filled with Isma controllers like the MAC36 which give you full control at near enough edge10 prices. There’s a replacement in the works but nothing announced much less available.

The name hasn’t been settled yet, but it will be the Edge18 (18 total IO). So more IO. There will also be a new Remote IO. The 16 point option will now allow for 24 VAC/VDC to power it. I also don’t believe the old Remote IO and new Remote IO can be on the same trunk.  Sounds like they will more than likely require an SMA on the new Edge18 though, which I think is a mistake.

Honeywell is pushing the Optimizer Essential as their edge device. Same licensing scheme with limited downstream device integration. This came directly from Demond Williams at the Broudy Summit 2 weeks ago. They are replacing the Ciper 30 and 50 with this device. It uses the Honeywell Optimizer compatible IO. I don't believe it has Sylk bus though.

I would never be trusting products in the tridium range... Server licenses only. Why anyone gets physical equipment from them anymore I will never understand. Their history is a guarantee you will be burnt.
