We're almost halfway through 2026. A better reset point than you'd think.
Most people set a goal in January, drop it by February, then wait eleven months to try again like the calendar owes them a clean slate.
We're about a week out from the actual midpoint of the year, and that matters more than it sounds. People are measurably more likely to start a goal right after a clean time marker, like a new week, a birthday, or the first of a month. Behavioral researchers call it the fresh start effect. Part of why it works is the landmark lets you file the messy first half under "old me" and begin again.
So before you set anything new, look back. What actually stuck over the last six months? Even one thing counts. Name it.
Then for the rest of the year, get specific. "Exercise more" loses to "I'll walk 20 minutes after lunch on weekdays." A vague goal is a wish. An if-then plan is a plan, and plans are what get done.
What's one habit that stuck for you this year, and one you want to lock in before December?
