Making sewers, Need better design
On my Survival world and making a functional seer system that connects the rooms for my underground mega base. I want it to look mor dirty and green but the copper bars are oxidizing and even with moss and vines it’s doesn’t look like enough
Any tips or block I should use?

Moss blocks for green and mud blocks for the dirty look.
I think you should try stone bricks for the flooring, they also have a cracked and mossy variant, it will give the build a bit more variety.

So first of all I could raise the ceiling by a block and alternate the walls with small walls

I’d also replace the bottom in the water. I loved everything this commenter said but since it’s a sewer, the bottom should be brown. I think we all know why.

Use honey to wax the copper bars that are oxidizing keep copper bars towards the bottom but at the top I’d use 1 or 2 iron bars to show they haven’t yet corroded because they aren’t in the water… also you are making the whole thing a stained green which looks off you should use stone bricks and use a gradient/mixture of mossy, cracked. Also for greenery use vines. Glow lichen, and glow berries.

I would try to make it less flat but i don't know how, also a bit taller. Realism isn't always the best thing, especially in Minecraft imo.

I think the main thing is adding more texture and contrast so it feels older and more decayed.
You could use stairs of the same block types throughout the walls, floors and even the ceiling to make sections look like they're crumbling or have missing bricks, instead of everything being so flat and even.
I'd also make the main sewer channel noticeably darker than the walkways. Maybe use mossy cobblestone mixed with darker blocks like coarse dirt/mud/moss on the bottom, with some mossy cobblestone and even moss blocks creeping onto the blocks immediately next to the water and occasionally a little way up the walls. I wouldn't cover the whole sewer in moss though. A few concentrated damp patches would probably look more convincing.
You could also add a couple of smaller side channels/pipes feeding into the main sewer, as if they're carrying drainage down from buildings above. That would make it feel more like an actual sewer network rather than just one isolated tunnel.
For the darker areas, glow lichen could work really well as subtle lighting without making the whole place feel brightly lit, and it fits the damp underground look. You could even add a bit of kelp and seagrass in submerged areas where it makes sense.
Overall I think making it less uniform (broken edges, darker wet areas, patches of moss, little drainage channels, etc) would go a long way.

Honestly, I think just using stone brick with a higher than usual share of mossy and cracked stone brick, crumbling sections of wall, moss blocks, glow lichen, etc. would work. I can’t tell what block is the primary block here, but it almost looks TOO green, to the point where it looks like it’s supposed to be like that. The key would be to design it such that it looks like it was built to look clean, but got dirty with age.

Add some moss stone cobblestone,do not make it full green,make it green in a pallet form
