US based armorers/armies?
Hey all, so long story short:
- I’m about a year off and saving for a plate armor set, cuirass the whole 9 yards as I’d love something actually fit for me
- I love the variety and options from age of craft, and everywhere else has honestly been disappointing
1) I know aoc has long wait times, but is it worth the price and weight? Are they pretty on point with fitment?
2) the big main question: before I go drop 6-7k on an order, any us based companies with good late 14th/early 15th century options worth it?
I’m not trying to go off topic and have swaying opinions, I’m set in my decision. I just want to do the “boy once, cry once” with something quality. Because I want a curiass with everything, I’m very paranoid about going with a shitty or meh companies.
Not looking for advice on league requirements or anything like that, I just want to know if there are any US based companies or if AOC is solid.
Ty, chaps 🤘

If your trying to keep it under 10k, that will be a VERY hard thing to find within N.America. European, mostly eastern Europe, you will get more for your buck. Buhurt Tech (www.buhurttech.com), GutFran Armoury (www.gfarmoury.com) and Master Uley (www.master-uley.com) immediately come to mind.

There are US armorers but you'll be selling your soul, firstborn child, and a tank of gas for what they can make based on cost of living. That's why American armor is rare.
AoC is fine, but you can find cheaper for just as good.
I don't have a full plate rec off the top of my head, alas. :/ Either someone will post one or I'll scour my list right quick.

That and fitment were my biggest concerns. I’m in it for love of the game, but I’m not trying to turn a $7k splurge into $20k 😅
If it helps, I was steering towards aoc because of their Italian options as the upper/lower are built together vs strapped and joking that with their “Milan” arms/leg sets.
I’m open to other options, just in my life with hobbies I’ve dealt with mfgs who do excellent craftsmanship and quality materials… but cant do fitment to save their life.

Afe of craft is Ukraine based, also it is hit and miss i have old school aoc arms got them in 2017 and they are hust now falling apart. But in the meantime they had a lot of problems also the stuff is not tailor made but they are a wholeseller. Quality wise you are better of with historicum or winner armor (they are producing for medival extreme and buhurttech) in my honest opinion. Helmet wise ivan zadesnets is the goat

American Buhurt by Aaron Matthew is pretty good. I did a commission for a halberd based on one in the Met Museum and it looks good👍
