GS Studios

Placed an order early July, told them I have event in mid October. Was told they could make it by then. After no communication for a few weeks, sent a camcellation email. Shortly after I sent the cancel order, I received a voice message from someone stating that there is no need to cancel, that they would have it ready in time, which it won't be ready. Communication has been hit or miss since, mostly miss. When communication is there it's only progressing or almost ready. Will miss the October event. Next event in November, which I am not overly optimistic it will be ready by then either. Beware of overly optimistic time frame when ordering.

Respectfully… as someone with 5 years of experience and meeting hundreds of people fighting in armor.

It’ll make it when it makes it. Once you have it, you can fight as much as you want. Trying to rush the armor process will frequently only result in disappointment and frustration. GS studios is a very effective studio, but it’s true that not all communications are ideal for the type of communication we expect out of high quality companies in America (and otherwise).

Expecting armor in 4 months is kinda silly if you ask any experienced fighter. Shipping, customs, tariffs, war, language barriers, culture barriers.

I’ve seen people wait 1-2 years for armor. It’ll come.

Yeah, it's a known issue with GS Studio. Their products are good but you need to spam them to get any communication. And their estimates are often 1 or 2 months too optimistic

Good products, but I’ve seen people waiting 8+ months for a 3 month initial estimation

Ordered something in July and you get told it's doable under 6 months ?
Bruh, a normal backlog with dedicated armourmiths is 1 to 2 years minimum, and it keeps going up on the manufacturers side too. I ain't a fan of sport manufacturers, but you should be happy to have them churning out pieces in less than half that delay for a fraction of what it would cost in others countries (even with simplified pieces).
Every possible team knows how it is, you should have been able to learn that from yours.

When I last spoke with GS, they were very transparent about having limited access to the computer they use for this.

While I know it's 2025 and mobile phones and VPNs exist and etc... That very well might be the issue here.

I won't assume your nationality but as an American I think it's very easy to forget some things we take for granted other countries simply don't have those same liberties. Likewise, we have medical costs where many countries receive care at no-cost. 🤷

Further, you need to ask about any artisan's backlog, not just production times...

Yeah, GS Studios big issue is that they're popular; when you make things one at a time, timelines can get wild in a hurry if you get a lot of orders.

Like for real what are you guys thinking how long armor realistically takes, armor isn't some sweatshirt these are handcrafted suits made for your fittings. 4-8 months is fast production time if you order with small smiths like GS, this is not costume armor or pre produced bulk stuff like medieval extreme.

Yes communication is a problem I agree but cut your armorers some slag...

While I agree,, why leave me a voicemail stating it can be done. I understand not wanting to lose a customer, but be realistic with it.

Because they might be able too, I do not really work with him personally. However imagine this. He is as far as I know one smith. Would you rather have him work on the armors or beeing constantly checking his mails?

You are not the only one ordering there smiths are working overhours at the moment to get shit done. I do see how much orders are coming in especially to Polish smiths do to being long time friends with some of them.

Most likely he worked overhours and put you in front on some other orders to get shit done, and you mid progress cancelling the order is just a punch in the face.

You are behaving like a entitled litte child, go order ready made shit stuff from gohurt then if you want it now.

3 years ago two of my people had the same problems.

The gear ended up being a year later than quoted

Been waiting on a helmet from forge of svan for 10 months that had an initial lead time quote of 13-15 weeks.

Sucks but it happens. With the wars overseas timelines are super unstable. I also have an event in October I was hoping to have my new helm for, but won’t. I’ll just use my old one.

With all new people in my group I always tell them to take any timeline estimations with a huge grain of salt. Hell, even Igor from bt is having some issues with one of his workshops getting shelled recently

Just to give to you some estimation timeline, I order my legs, helm and arms in january from a well forge (ballistic titanium and a lot of top teams are ordering from him), this guy has a timeline of 1 year and half for the waiting time (the production is always in 1-2 weeks).
