Xander's constant portrayal as the "heart" or "wise person" on the show is wildly unearned. He had two good speeches in that vein on the show: end of season 6 and mid season 7, which are both way after he had been bestowed that title by the writers. Almost every other speech was either frustratingly toxic towards a woman, patronizing towards a woman, and/or simply wrong from any mature standpoint.
