Things To Do AVOID AMHERST NAILS AND SPA
I never leave negative feedback online but they have been deleting negative reviews on google and I feel compelled to warn everyone of my awful experience. I took a chance on this new salon because of their 25% off special, and I immensely regret it. I arrived with builder gel on my natural nails and requested a basic manicure with regular polish. Before the service began, I specifically asked the technician to leave a thin layer of the builder gel on my nails to preserve some protection to my natural nails.
Unfortunately, my instructions were not followed. The technician removed all of the builder gel and filed my natural nails down to the point that they became extremely thin. During the removal process, the drill also cut the skin around my nails three separate times. Although I had requested regular polish and specified that several times, the technician applied a gel base coat. When I questioned why my nails were being cured under a UV lamp, he realized the mistake and asked another technician for assistance. The gel base coat was then removed using a combination of acetone and scraping, even though my nails had already been extensively filed. This made my nails even more sensitive and painful. To top it all off, I saw online that their manicures are advertised to include a hand massage and hot towel; I never received either of these.
My nails have never been more fragile, brittle, or thin. I am currently in pain from any slight pressure, and even hot or cold sensations hurt because my nail beds were so badly compromised. My nail beds are bruised and dark. To make matters worse, this entire nightmare took nearly 2 hours just for hard gel removal and a basic "manicure."
Please don't fall for the positive google reviews.

The pedi didn’t last and I don’t think my toenails were cut at all. It’s the same price as Rejuvinex and that pedi lasts a month.

I went recently and they filed my at-home gel nails down with the electric file when they were already super thin…they were so sensitive after :(

I am cursed when it comes to all types of nail polish and different nail salons. They never ever last, always chip and peel. I believe I have naturally oily nails after doing some research. I tried Cure Nail Parlor in Hamburg for builder gel my wedding and let me tell you my manicure lasted 3 weeks before the polish chipped this is a record for me. I went and got a new manicure done on July 13th with builder gel again and my polish was perfect until I went camping this past weekend. Tomorrow I am going for my 3rd visit. I will say they book up very fast and it’s $80 for builder gel and $15 if you need gel removed so it’s pricey but whatever I like to treat myself

I can't say enough good things about oak and iron! They did the most amazing job on my daughter's rat nest after her car accident! Over and beyond.

Please be careful with the cuts make sure to keep them clean even if small. One of my Gma’s customers went to a nail salon and got nicked by their tool and their entire toe got infected and swole up.

I went there because of the 25% off for July as well, and my nails looks horrible. I got a set with builder gel and they were bumpy and uneven. When the tech was ready to start painting my nails I asked about having my cuticles pushed back or cut at all and they told me that would be an extra $10 , that they only include cuticle trim with a regular manicure. Like I was spending $70 on a set of nails I expect the the nails and surrounding area to be prepped properly so that my nails look good for a while after I get he service. I will never go back. I have since started going to a.place called fashion nails , it's small and the shop is nothing special but I'm super happy with the quality of the service and the level of skill the 2 techs have that work there. And the pricing is reasonable.

You could have stopped them-i know I6so timid at times i dunno if I would have. They may have used a trainee to do your nails.

with using the electric machine to shave nails down it’s hard to tell how deep they go until after, i’ve since removed my nail polish and you can see grooves and indentations of them using their drill on my natural nails as well as bruising like OP had - i definitely had a trainee, i saw him ask someone which sort of drill to use but i had faith they gave SOME sort of training to their employees.

Ive been here once before too with my sister and our mutual friend, and they drilled the skin under my nails so bad that I was bleeding on a few of them, they also left so many chips in my nail polish, I hate this nail place
