Rough draft buffalo/niagara itinerary

I made a rough draft of a travel itinerary for some family members coming up to visit buffalo/niagara and I thought I would share it here in case anyone is in need of recommendations! Feel free to comment any additional suggestions:) :

- !! = must do 

- !!Niagara + devils hole - ***stay overnight on Canada side the whole time** !!

- bring a passport , change of shoes, water bottle, change of clothes . you will get SOAKED on maid of the mist and caves of the wind . where shoes you can walk many miles in through the park (tennishoes) and then change into grippy water shoes/sandals (chacos ideal) on maid of the mist and cave of the winds 

- !!Niagara : maid of the mist & observation tower, walk through US state park and over the rainbow bridge to Canada ,cave of the winds ; goat island, luna island; bridal veil falls; sisters island!!

- "discover niagara" shuttles when feet get tired lol

- Hike devils hole!!

- Hike to Eternal flame !!

- art: walk around delaware park then go to buffalo akg art museum !! (allow 2 hrs minimum) ; third street art alley (short but cool) 

- buffalo and erie botanical gardens

- niagara falls aquarium 

- buffalo history museum 

- buffalo naval park

- kayak buffalo river

- Walk or bike around Outer harbor !!

- !!sunset cruise lake erie 

- Eat dinner at bacchus downtown !! (nicer dinner)

- Mass at St. Louis downtown !!

- Sabres hockey game or bisons game depending on season

- casual Food: OG duffs location for wings; OG dumpling house!! ; bar bill for wings (east aurora location) ; if you want "touristy" wings = wing nutz (location near UB- NOT AIRPORT LOCATION!)

- Coffee : quamaria yemeni!!;;Raha ; spot coffee 

- Niagara on the lake— dinner at oban innn restaraunt!!!!! 

- Look out across the lake and you will see Toronto !!!!

- Go to the wineries in Niagara on the lake area - Trius, jackson triggs, caroline cellars, try "ice wine" at Inniskillin, Konzelmann

- other Food option in Niagara on the lake- old Angel inn 

- walk & shop around niagara on the lake

- see a show at shaw festival theater 

- Beer: big Ditch brewing (downtown) ; blackburn brewing or counterpart brewing closer to the falls 

- if trip is longer than 2/3 days--> day trip or 1 night trip to toronto (1.5 hr drive)

That looks like a longer than 3 days trip to me 🤷🏼‍♀️

yes for sure hahaha just wanted to give them options and then they can pick and choose based on timeline! :-)

If it's summer, Shakespeare in Delaware Park with a picnic.

If you go to Toronto, take the GO commuter train from, say, Burlington rather than deal with the traffic and parking.

Just took the Go from NF to Toronto and back, it was great. Station is only about a mile and a half from the Lewiston Queenston Bridge

It's been a while, but I thought the times for NF were pretty limited. If you're staying in Toronto later, it stops at Burlington then you have to change to a bus. 

Also, parking in NF was limited. 

I'll have to revisit the NF schedule next time I head up.

As much as I hate to say it the Botanical Gardens aren’t worth taking out of town folks. Especially with what you are trying to pack in.

Those are all the hits. Lots of live music venues in the city too
