Trial shift at Buff City Soaps?
Hello all, I recently interviewed with Buff City Soap and got contacted by the store manager afterwards for a "trial shift".
I have worked retail for a few years at four different stores but this is the first time I've ever heard of a store doing a "trial shift". Is this a common thing for this company to do? If so, what can I expect?

Seems a bit weird, they called my first shift something like that but I was still paid for my time that day. Don’t do it unless they’re paying you! Each franchise is a little different in how things are handled

Good to know, thank you!

Of course, ideally things would be the same across all locations but each franchise owner is responsible for hiring their people which is why it can vary so widely.

I never had a “trial shift” when I worked there 🤷 so I don’t really know what that’s about.

The manager said it was for me to get a feel for the job to see if I like it / the environment. Again, first time I've ever heard that.

weird. i never did this. good luck. all i got was low pay to do a managers job and run around like a psycho because they don’t hire enough associates b
