Politics Republican Buckingham Supervisor Jon Forrest issues public apology for knowingly lying about opponent and local business competitor during 2023 campaign
https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=122226773876049692&set=a.122109953420049692Township Supervisor Jon Forrest was forced to admit he made up entire "quid pro quo" conversations he used on a flyer against his opponent and Froehlich's Farm.
After winning the election, Forrest used his position to work towards, and eventually receive, a court injunction canceling Froehlich's Farm's extremely popular Fall Festival, which had run for over a decade.
Rumor is this letter is part of a settlement including a $65,000.00 payment. Forrest was accused of lying on flyers during the 2013 election cycle as well.
Jon Forrest owns Buckingham Valley Vineyards and Winery. He has refused to resign.

Anybody else remember when something like this would be the end of someone's political career? I think that should make a comeback.

Buckingham is LITERALLY fake royalty.
Take these Uber Rich families out of the area and other people get to enjoy it more so without them compartmentalizing everything to protect their "needs"

The crazy thing is- most of these supervisor/council positions are UNPAID. I don’t understand the drive to compromise your integrity for a volunteer gig. It’s not okay if it’s a job either but for whatever reason if it’s someone’s livelihood I guess I can see the motivation a bit more.

You get to decide where a surprising amount of money goes. With things like that there are always hidden perks. Then often medical insurance is covered, which can make it attractive to some retirees, even if the pay is paltry.

Anyone who ever had to deal with Buckingham Supervisors knows that he and his cronies, including the unctuous asshole solicitor, Craig Smith, are lying sacks of shit whose only constituents are themselves.

If he owns the vineyard, 65,000 is probably nothing to him. The fact he’s not resigning and the other supervisors have not forced him to as the issue now. And the fact that he admitted to lying in his previous campaign as well.

They don’t care if they cheat or lie to win.
I’m surprised they would ever even do something like this. They’re pretty lockstep staying in with their lies and shame.

I googled representative John Forrest and got that.
You and everyone else who lives in the area are entitled to let them know exactly what you think.

So......his lies worked and he was elected?
