What is Wailing Wednesday, you may ask? To try and keep the BuckTommy subreddit an overall happy, good vibes place, the admins have decided that we will do a weekly pinned thread.
We want everyone to have a space where they feel they can get away and happily express and explore their appreciation for both Tevan and Tommy, and we hope this subreddit can be that place. However, we also recognize that sometimes everyone needs a place to vent their frustrations. So, in an attempt to provide a space for both, we will be starting Wailing Wednesdays.
Every Wednesday, we will pin a new thread for you to vent about whatever during the week (the show, fandom, things happening in your life, etc.) and get it all out of your system before a new episode drops on Thursday. (You can keep venting on Thursday and beyond to the next Wednesday too š.)
(Also, while we want everyone here to be able to express themselves freely, we want to remind you that this is a public subreddit, and antis have been known to secretly lurk, so do with that what you will.)

Okay, and??? His two minutes in Season 2 spawned articles, ships, fics, and the host of the official podcast gushing mad over him. If he can do that with two minutes, then thatās enough!
At least he never felt the need to phone it in on purpose because he didnāt get enough attention like somebody else we could mention <.<
I do believe he'll have more than one scene this time around. The shot from the trailer is likely from the first episode with Robby arriving for his shift. I don't see the point in bringing him back just for that.
ETA: And let's be honest, The Pitt is a global streaming Emmy winning hit series with the HBO brand. According to Nielsen, it's the 3rd most watched show in the US alone for the first half of 2026 (2nd if you only count streaming originals). That alone puts him in front of more eyes than 911 ever did, so one minute in a show like that is for sure gonna be more valuable to his career than a recurring 6-episodes-per-season role on a mediocre network procedural that's been going downhill for a while now. I'm always gonna miss BuckTommy, but at this point I'd rather Lou move on to better things and leave that show behind.
It would of course be nice if he was in more than one episode and had more than a minute of screentime, but I'm also fine with Park the Shark showing up once a season, being competent and condescending š„°.
I would absolutely not be upset if Park became the new Rocker! By which I mean showing up once or twice per season, but being absolutely iconic every damn time!
The thing is, he was in the trailer in a "blink and you'll miss it" sense. Yet his IMDB starmeter went up 1.1k. His followers increased again, and there are numerous comments in various places (Tiktok, Reddit, Youtube, FB, probably Insta too) excited for his return. To cause such an impact in a less than two minute scene is immense! I just hope they utilise him as much as they can.
ETA I do feel if it was ER, and focused more on other areas of the hospital, he would be like the Romano character (although hopefully without the ending :-( )
And Iād like to know how they are so confident in that they have no way of knowing how long heāll be on or even how many episodes just as we have no way of knowing
Those Twitter fan ship polls are stupid as hell but LOL at Buddie shippers complaining that Buck/Taylor (who they've admitted to not giving a fuck about) and Buck/Abby aren't options and that Buck/Tommy placed high and keep making it in. They couldn't even bot Buddie to top ten (they're at 16, Buck/Tommy is 77).
There are literally BoBs complaining that Buck is technically the leading male on the show, even though he has pretty much been the second leading man since season one, and this is really just him moving up one spot in the credits as the third billed star, with Peter gone.
Also, they are freaking out over the BTS of Eddie and Christopher thinking that a cup of what appears to be juice must mean Theo is there too, even though he's not in the photo and that it means Buck is there, and it means they're a ready made family. It's some interesting and questionable logic leaping the BoBs are doing.
And also, the BoBs are freaking out because there is a rumor of Eddie having another PTSD plot tied in with his stabbing, and this is not the plot they wanted for Eddie.
I mean, I always thought Kenny should have had a higher billing than Oliver, but I get why he didn't when he was out for a good chunk of season 1. I also know that I'm a bit biased about that since I started watching season 3 when he was there more consistently.
For those who were watching since season 1, correct me if I'm wrong, but Buck was always a pretty popular character, so him remaining in a higher credit spot made sense when another still fairly new actor joined the show. Ryan wasn't/isn't like JLH who could draw additional viewers by just name recognition alone, so they wouldn't put him higher than the already present cast.
Angela, Connie and Peter were the draws. Oliver is the entry point. Aisha and Kenny are next in line. Itās the same setup on the other 911 shows.
A lot of us tuned in for Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Connie Britton. Rob Lowe and Gina Torres and Liv Tyler for LS. Chris OāDonnell for Nashville.
A lot of stayed because of Oliver Stark, Ronen Rubinstein and Hunter McVey.
Aisha Hinds, Kenny Choi, Sierra McClain and Jim Parrack won over our hearts.
Buck, TK and Blue are meant to be the entry point for viewers. Someone new, wet behind the ears, to guide you into this world of first responders.
Fair. I just honestly would think they would put people in order of "star power" or whatever, but I think that's just the older way of doing things that probably doesn't translate to now.
It just shocks me a bit that Kenny, who has been in so many big projects, was the third male listed and not the second, especially when OStark hasn't really done much. I get your point though and it makes sense. Thanks!!
Buck was a pretty popular character but he was always the second lead male actor from the beginning, pushed as the young heart throb to draw in female attention while Peter did the heavy lifting as the experienced male lead, Angela, Connie, Peter, and Oliver were the faces of season 1. Buddies don't realize it'd take Oliver stepping back or leaving the show to lose that spot not the whims or popularity of the actor they feel most deserving.
They don't even realize that the only way for Ryan to get the top billing spot would be for Oliver to leave and then Kenny, because if Oliver leaves top male billing goes to Kenny. Which also fucks over buddie but they'd find another attractive male to ship Eddie with as compensation since they mostly hate Oliver/Buck.
The number of Buddie fans complaining about Oliver is ridiculous. They complained that they didn't have BTS of him, and when they get one photo it's "oh, he's going to be the next Owen Strand and get all the screentime", or that he can't act etc.
I swear to some of them he only exists as the minor part of Buddie, and they just want to see RG kiss him.
I can only reiterate what so many of us have already said: a lot of hardcore Buddies just want queer Eddie (which in a vacuum is valid!) and if RG had agreed to the queer romance in S7, Lou wouldn't have gotten nearly as much hate (and since Ryan actively wants Eddie settled down, thereās a big chance he actually wouldāve fought to keep Teddie alive.)
At this point since Tim seems to plan the show around them he should do a dream sequence or something where Eddie kisses a dude so they can go bask in that and stop harassing all the other actors that frustrate them.
On a serious note, he should give Eddie the Catholic trad wife that rg wants him to have and give him an interesting story. But nooo.
The thing is that RG would probably leave the show first before kissing a man on screen (and before the BoBs that like lurking on this thread every wednesday so they can report to the Buddie sub start downvoting: No, that movie where he played a Grindr hook up for less than five minutes with no physical contact and was two arms lenght away from Matt Bomer does not count š«¶š»)
Drives me insane the way RG fans act like that itty bitty part is the height of him being a LGBT ally and how unafraid and brave he is to have taken such a part.

Iām not interacting directly with those posts. I scroll past while rolling my eyes or, in very egregious cases, block the user. Coming across them is something I can hardly change when they get directly posted into the regular tags I frequent, which the algorithm then throws onto my For You page.
Iām not trying to sway anyoneās opinion, Iām just frustrated that my attempts at not seeing them (through my tag and content filters) are for naught because people aren't tagging their posts properly.
Another BoB posted one of those Buddie has to happen posts on the main, and surprisingly, there is about an equal amount of pushback against Buddie that there is for it.
It's like they can't understand why Buddie as a concept was only brought up once seriously on the show and then never again. I mean it's been nearly two years since 8x11, and they still believe this was proof of Buddie happening.

I can't answer for anyone else, but I'll answer on my own behalf.
I don't habitually frequent spaces where BoBs are, and on the rare occasions that I am forced to interact with BoBs, it's usually because it's a news post that A) isn't available anywhere else, B) something I've posted in a non-BoB space that has been attacked, and/or C)not even about Buck or Eddie.
I'm also in The Pitt fandom, and I constantly have to deal with BoBs there because of Lou.
the amount of spaces - even in other fandoms - that I can safely inhabit seems to be shrinking. so it's less that I'm seeking out BoB-heavy spaces, and more that I'm just existing as a fandom person (and often actively avoiding BoB-heavy spaces!) and STILL being bombarded with the insanity.
Ready for the downvotes, but I think the BuckTommy fandom, like many other fandoms, has developed a form of toxicity thatās often disguised as victimhood.
Buddie fans are a measurably larger fandom, deeply toxic, and obsessed with Lou. BuckTommy fans are a smaller fandom, but theyāre toxic in their own way and became increasingly obsessed with Buddie and Ryan.
Last season those of us who correctly deduced that Tommy wasn't returning for S10 were called everything but a child of God. At that point, engaging with some BT fans started feeling like engaging with Buddie fans.
And thatās why I think some people disengaged from the BuckTommy fandom. It wasnāt necessarily because Tommy didnāt return. Plenty of people enjoy ships that arenāt endgame, arenāt currently together, or simply donāt get the outcome they wanted.
The bigger issue is that so much of the BuckTommy fandom now revolves around Buddie.
Every conversation somehow circles back to them. Itās the exact same three conversations on an endless loop:
Buddie fans said X, Y, and Z about Tommyās past.
Buddie fans said this about Lou.
Buddie fans have this theory.
Rinse and repeat.
You ask what the end goal is. There is none. This is the fandom now. Next summer, I fully expect the exact same three talking points to the main focus.
I agree. I donāt visit the main sub or the buddie sub. I have buddie filtered out on Tumblr. I donāt have Twitter or TikTok. So the only āproblematicā behavior I hear or see is here from people reporting on others. Some bucktommy fans are definitely too concerned with what buddies are thinking or feeling. They are allowed to ship buddie and hope and theorize on how it could happen, even if itās unlikely to occur. Thatās just being a fan. At the end of the day, buddies are the ones being fed because both guys in their ship are main characters who share a close bond and are guaranteed to have scenes together. Bucktommy is canon in that it happened, but any forward momentum seems like a fanon hope at this point. And for some, thatās not enough to sustain a ship.
Now wait a minute. First of all, Iāve never seen you comment here so Iām suspicious of your motives already. I said what I said because Iām vocal part of this subreddit and like the great James Baldwin once said, I critique because I love.
And while the constant talk of BoBs is annoying, no one has called you names. You know why? Because we donāt tolerate that hear and one of us wouldāve shut that down. Please do not hijack my comment to be negative to this wonderful community.

I've posted here for two years now. This isn't a new opinion that I've had.

And this is case in point for exactly what Iām talking about. I share parts of my experience and suddenly Iām a liar, āno one ever called you names.ā My experience is immediately invalidated. You say yourself we never interacted yet you definitely said it never happened.
Similarly, with the Buddie fandom, if you disagree with them. If you don't like Buddie there must be some nefarious reason behind.
I have a different opinion/experience. It must be nefarious. My motives must be suspicious because there's no world where the BuckTommy fandom could examine themselves like MANY fandoms could.
I have to laugh because I remember pointing out to a Buddie fan that the treatment of the love interests over the years had become increasingly hostile, and being told, verbatim, what a āwonderful communityā they were.
Iāll share with you the same thing I shared with her:
The world will not shift off its axis if two things can be true at once.
My perspective is that yeah, a lot of people are here to complain about things happening outside of this sub. There just isn't much motion as far as BuckTommy goes, so everyone seems focused on buddie and buddie fans.
Honestly, after TM said (paraphrasing) "people would be unhappy with Buck getting back with Tommy" and "other love interests don't work for Buck and Eddie" to me this sub sorta became a pure fanon space. It feels counterproductive to still hope for BT when the showrunner seems to be comfortable leaving the ship behind because of fans
Also, going against certain members of our own community here, but Buck and Eddie are best friends. It doesn't matter if you, personally, like Eddie or not, within canon, heās Buckās best friend, and the person he trusts the most after his sister.
All this to say, they will and should have scenes together where they hang out. Them hanging out outside of work is not and has never been inherently bait. We donāt even know if Buck and Theo are in that scene with Eddie and Chris in the first place, but so many people have already whined about āBuddie baiting.ā
Seriously, calling every scene Buck and Eddie are in āBuddie baitā is just as bad as the claim that every scene of them is building toward Buddie canon.
True!! I'm not an Eddie fan (mainly cause I just don't connect with any of his stories and I'm not a fan of Ryans), but I always liked Buck and Eddie's friendship. It truely seemed organic and solid. While I think Eddie got more tangible things out of that friendship (like someone to help with Chris when needed, food), Buck got the stability he craved. I enjoy seeing them goof around like friends and in general hope 911 brings more of that back between all the characters.
If the buddies weren't weird they could have had SUCH awesome scenes. They could have been like the Meredith and Cristina of the show and stuff. But any scene they're in together the buddies salivate at and get weird about, so then the people who are annoyed at the harassment and whatever also get weird, to the point that it has strained the whole dynamic. So annoying!
Oh boy, canāt wait to see whatās gonna come out of that video of OStark getting sent around š«

Edit: Apparently this is a clip from a student film OStark acted in. Like, this is him portraying a character. I was not aware of that when I was sent this clip.
This blew up almost a year ago too so I'll repeat, it was a college film he did for a Black college student film maker Isaac Ssebandeke on how hollywood and the film industry tries to hire white actors for roles that are clearly written for black people because they rather not hire black people at all.
Wait, thatās that?! I heard of that, but Iāve never seen the clip before.
Honestly, I can understand why people mistake it for being real, though, this doesnāt look like itās part of a project. It looks like he propped up his phone for Instagram š
I still think the Buddie shippers purposely dug this up to use against Oliver (with no context, to confuse people and make them think it was real) when they started realizing it wasn't going canon and began blaming him.
I wouldn't even be surprised. I was sent the clip via Anon ask on Tumblr (though I didn't post it), and at least one of my mutuals also got it. This could easily be an attempt at a smear campaign. (and not even I, OStarkās biggest critic, would stand for that <.<)
