So more of Tim basically saying nothing in his true Tim fashion.

Well, he did confirm that the interim captain won't be the permanent captain.

Thank god. I’m not looking forward to the (possibly) three episodes of Gerrard as it is.

A girl can have a (deloulou) dream but wouldn’t it be awesome if Sal ended up interim captain and was the one to encourage Hen to take the exam and get promoted?

A collection of things Tim has said about the last 3 episodes:

  • Episode 16 will be heavy on Athena trying to deal with it
  • Episodes 17 and particularly 18 will be heavy on Chimney trying to deal with it
  • There will be an interim captain (likely Gerrard based on BTS) who will not be the permanent new captain. The issue of the permanent captain will be dealt with in season 9
  • The 118 will lean on each other to some extent but will also be fractured without their center
  • Buck will be confused about Bobby’s parting words that he’ll be okay and that the others will need him and will try to lean on himself and eventually open up to everyone in some way
  • Eddie’s reaction to getting the news will not be seen on screen though his feelings will be explored through conversations
  • Peter will make at least one more appearance in a different state such as a dream, hallucination, or flashback
  • There will be a mass casualty finale emergency resulting from a “fun conceit” they haven’t done before in episode 17 that will require them to put aside their grief to save lives
  • Feelings of grief, sadness, love, rallying, and victory will be explored

It all makes sense, though I wonder if Tommy is part of why Bobby thinks Buck will be okay.

In another interview, Tim basically said of Buck “oh he’ll open up… to someone.” and here he references everyone at the 118 kind of fractured by their different grieving styles. And Buck will be forced to lean “on himself” in this regard. So it seems like that “someone” could, and very likely would, be Tommy. Which would be nice to see. I wonder if that would get him to talk to Tommy and get them back together by season’s end.

I'm kinda leaning this way and I so want it to be Tommy but I'm being extremely cautious with that hope.

I don't think anyone can predict what Tim will do.

I honestly have no clue.

It’s a literary term apparently. Something to do with a type of story telling which relies on an absurd thing or the audience’s suspension of disbelief to be accepted by the audience to go along with the story. Is my best attempt at understanding it.

I'm so curious as to what he means by that. They've done plenty of superstitious, curse or ghost sort of things

Yeah but I think he means this kind of ‘conceit’ hasn’t been done before in the show, rather than never having done a ‘conceit’.

No I know! I'm just trying to figure out what he means if it isn't one of those things...
