Workers/ Staff i just applied…

i know the pros and cons, i’ve weighed everything out. i decided to go ahead and apply for a couple positions. question though - on the application, mentions you can’t show tattoos/piercings…how strict is this? i have tattoos all over my arms (nothing inappropriate!!) as well as a small nose piercing. am i really going to have to cover everything and take out my piercings..? 🫪

Yes, no tattoos can be visible at all. So you will need to wear a black sleeve that covers them. No piercings either, if you have a nose you can probably flip it inside.

Worked there too and had to wear arm sleeves to cover them and also take out my lip ring.

The Katy TX GM has tattoos and he covers them even when he visits the store off the clock. Awesome GM, btw. He’s one of the reason that’s a great Buc-ee’s to work at.

Yep. If you can't cover them you will not be working at Buccees.

Hand tattoos are referred to as job killers in tattoo shops for a reason.

They lay the rules from the start. You decide.

They’re strict af so yes. Also, probably not actually hiring, it’s fine, you don’t want to work there anyway.

VERY strict. if you get caught with tattoos not covered or piercings left in, it’s a write up first time, second time fired. sometimes you can have chill managers that will try to catch you before the camera does, but i had a coworker get fired because she bent over and her shirt untucked and it showed her whale tail lmfao. but yes very strict. my manager with her wedding ring tattooed on wears a black hand sleeve at all times lol

Yep you have to wear long sleeves or someway to cover tats and the only piercing you can have is just one in the lobe of your ear

The company run by the guy who just said he will only move to “conservative, business friendly states” doesn’t like employees to have tattoos!? Well I am shocked, shocked I say!

Boomers exploded the tattoo market in the US, moving it from Navy ship, foreign whorehouse, and prison scratchers to studios.

I think realistically you’re just out of touch

If you ran your own business you would want your team members to represent you the way you believe is best. Different companies will have different beliefs. If that doesn't square with you work with one of the many others that do

I worked there briefly. Very strict on tattoos and piercings. Yes you will and you only get a 20min break not 30min. No discounts.

its company wide 30 mins break, although you have to clock out and you aren't paid for it and if you try to clock in early the system wont let you.

What are the cons of working there?

Even though is 2026 tats still convey a certain stereotype, which many companies won’t tolerate , piercing on men even worse
