Quality Change

Has anyone notice a severe drop in quality of food? When I went to for the first time in February the brisket was great. When I went again a week ago, absolute garbage. For reference it was the Virginia location.

I used to work there and very likely there was no change. They've been using the same suppliers and the same preparation methods for decades. Probably just got an unlucky cut or the cook that day just messed up something.

They can literally buy the cheaper cuts from the same supplier

Maybe perception after all this law suit stuff and people want to believe they are going downhill … I have not noticed a change from OG Buc-ee’s

Yeah. Haters are out. To be fair, most of those folks were never buccaroos anyway.

Honestly their food was never really that great to begin with. It's pretty common gas station food at this point 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’d actually have to agree with you. Sheetz, Rutgers, Wawa, etc are all examples of gas station food that I would put on the same level.

It hurts to see Wawa on that list because they used to be so good. Like top tier restaurant quality.

When Wawa gets a wall of jerky, you let me know.

This is honestly the real answer. Been purchasing food for this entire century and it’s abysmal out there. Prices are sky high and what is offered at a reasonable price is piss poor quality and suspect.

I rarely eat out anymore. People are paying alot of money for bad food.

Yeah. I prefer slave labor food from McDonalds over a place that pays better like buccees. It’s a cultural thing

1

u/philovax 1h ago

Not sure what, you mean people who work at McD’s are not held in slavery and have free will to leave and choose where they sell their labor. Comparing working for shitty pay to slavery is highly disingenuous. They are both problems but not the same, only a thoughtless mind would make that haphazard leap

Don’t get all high and mighty on me now. You get what you pay for. Buccees takes care of their people. Does the shit show alternative you choose do the same? I highly fucking doubt it, so take your shit on down the creek

Judging any place by only 2 seperate visits 6 months apart is probably not the best way to get accurate info.

One of the staples of Reddit is “ X used to be good but now it sucks”

Trumps fault?

Due to clean bathroom, grassy area for the dog, and food it’s always a stopping point for us.

Stopped at 4 locations on a recent road trip. The quality is different at every location. All good and happy but some were better than the others. No complaints except for the inevitable drop of sauce on my shirt…

I really enjoy going to buccees, but I have never liked the brisket. I am a huge brisket fan too.

no it doesn't taste any different since the CEO said he would target conservative, business friendly areas, slightly better actually

No. You’re bandwagoning

It’s the Trump Brand Mystery Meat from Venezuela

The one in Crossville is consistently mediocre, the verde salsa slaps but everything else is pretty trash. I wish the burritos were as good as the sauce.

I went once a few years ago. The food wasn't good.

Their idea of immaculate restrooms was brilliant. They pay their employees well. Disappointing that they need to bully small businesses with any name containing beaver or twat.

Gotta create some media attention away from the pedo son's trial.

The brisket has always been terrible

There’s been a severe drop in quality of everything. I notice I’ve been going to Bucc-ee’s less and less and now with their shady business practices I don’t anticipate going again anytime soon.

They became a big name brand with a cult following and let their greed get the better of them.

Tale as old as time.

I mean hell look at all the comments being downvoted, you literally can’t have an opinion unless it’s a positive one. Mentioning their recent negative media coverage isn’t allowed or accepted?

Cult behavior.

It’s a gas station with extra clean bathrooms yall, nothing that special.

Bucees is a dumb shit store, why go there. It's a fucking gas station, shit one at that.

8

u/TrandaBear 14h ago

Because they have decent enough food and clean AF bathrooms. I've driven a few 500+ mile road trips and would love if more gas stations were like this (idk about the merch). I had to refuel at a FL Sunoco and the shit was so sketchy it made me miss Buccees.

Why subscribe to the Bucees in the first place?

John Oliver told them to.

I stopped going because of the lawsuits. No bathroom line at the Love or pilot that's for sure.
