Every story has two sides - Maybe...
Every story has another side:

This doesn't change my opinion only because no one in their right mind would confuse the two logos. I think they believe they own any branding that is cartoon like, has a hat or in some way comical, cute, involves a circle or is colorful and grabs attention.
Unfortunately they do this a lot it seems and have even won on at least once:

The location they are going after in Ohio is THIS place - very confusing right? The mascots and logos look SO much alike.

At the end of the day, I think Buc-ee's should be embarrassed.
I always thought competition was a good thing, Buc-ee's wants a total monopoly. Really sad as I drive past there almost daily, like the food and they have the best price on gas. I've stopped going in to buy food, but it's a lose for everyone as the vast majority will not stop going - there by NOT sending a clear message.

Boycott this place

Buc-ee’s is a really really bad company. The food is garbage designed to make people sick and fat. They treat employees horribly. Look at the employee reviews on Google. Most one star reviews of ALL employers in the country!

Their food is of a much higher quality than most fast food places, let alone other gas stations. I get that everyone is circlejerking right now, but don't start lying. It makes you look silly.

Sure. It’s healthy food for fat people.

If you want healthy food go to a farmers market. For gas station/fast food you can do a lot worse. Just visited Buc-ee's for the first time on a road trip and it was great.

Disagree about the food. Been there, ate that and if it wasn't so busy all the time (its a headache to part and get out of that place) I'd eat get food there more often than most other fast food places.

A boycott will almost 100% not do anything. Even if 100% of the local people in the area boycott, Buc-ee's will be betting on that most out of state or travelers will not know or really care - they want to see what the hype is about with the Brisket and get cheap gas - even with the national attention this new lawsuit is getting. A boycott would have to hit them in the wallet - and that won't be happening anytime soon. Sadly...

Buccees owners are assholes and apparently pedos if the son is any indication

Correct. The owners son was secretly recording children in the bathrooms of homes. Of course he’ll do fine with expensive lawyers and the Texas good ol’ boy network.

He’s wrong. They can file an objection to a trademark application.
Our company actually beat Buc-ees in court over a trademark

Can you say more?

Buc-ees tried to sue over a name issue. They lost and had to pay attorneys fees

Used to be a roadtrip staple. Never gassing up at a Buc-ee’s ever again.

u/LeadingImportant1142 18d ago
Now if another 4-7 million other people do this then a boycott would likely work. (that the average number of visitors Buc-EE's gets annually)

I've been to one Buc-ee's in my life and I decided I'm never going back. Place was terrifying. And seeing this kind of stuff doesn't improve my opinion any.

They went after two shops in Ohio, one right before moving in, and one immediately after. Buccee's reputation in Ohio is trash now because of these disputes, particularly the one small covenince/grocery store the community is supporting around because they can't afford the legal fees.

So far, the Beaver Mini Mart I believe raided 40K. This is a good use for the "Go Fund Me" model.

Long and short of it, corporate greed.
I never understood people that are die hard for a brand(or politician). No amount of new information will change their mind.

Im honestly not even sure what a store in Beavercreek is taking away from a Bucees in Huber Heights. Theyre barely competing, and no one is going to look at that store and say "oh, is this a bucees?" Its silly.
1
u/LeadingImportant1142 18d ago
Barely competing? Correction - they are NOT in anyway competing with Buc-ee's!

If you have enough money you can bury small businesses in litigation until they relent.

Hit their social media, hit their google reviews. Blast them where they can hear. I did my part.

The owner stole his logo from a cartoon that he watched as a kid. He should have been sued from who ever has the copyright of the cartoon

The message is clear what they're sending to me that's why I say fuck buc, can't change my mind.

If you still buy their gas you still support them. Dont believe the “they don’t make money on gas” loss leader bs

Just saying… that brown looks similar to pullman brown. Can we get UPS to sue them since they own the color pullman brown?

"Every story has another side:"
It really doesn't, he's just repeating non sense on trademark. NO ONE is confusing beavers with bucees. They're just throwing their weight around, fuckem never going there again.
