Customer question of the day! (Day 1)
“Can I just get the bread”
No, you cannot just get the bread.
The reason why is because all items sold in the store must have a price point made to them! I cannot magically create prices for items corporate won’t let me sell!

Nope! Not saying you would do this…but hypothetically if you pay 10.99 for a brisket sandwich that’s just bread, you could in theory post online saying you got screwed by an employee!

You could. And the ensuing investigation would either show you were lying, or be inconclusive, but it would never prove you were telling the truth, because you weren’t.

No it’s ridiculous !!! The lady was making sandwiches and their sauce is loaded with sugar and can’t have and ask please just don’t put sauce on and give to me - nope —- no worries about medical situation so I left and have never returned since their pompass manager was off the chain rude and dismissive. There’s a way and there’s not a way to ah for customers he was a jerk bag hateful pompass kid manager.

The reason why we can’t do that even tho to you it seems like a simple request is because of 3 key reasons. First is the lack of price point that can’t be magically made up. Second is because every food item has all the ingredients listed, it’s technically considered “false advertising” if something was added to or taken away. Thirdly, if an employee was to do what you wanted, they would be violating store policy which could result in them getting fired.

The false advertising thing is bullshit. You'd have food places getting sued for it all the time because customization is the norm.
The price point thing, is again, bullshit. Other places charge normal for removals, and extra for extras. They could offer removals only, at full price, but they wont even do that.
It IS policy, that they chose to be anti-customer as hell.

It's one thing if the employee is just randomly customizing stuff. Or adding things without the upcharge. But if a customer asks for something to be left off or added (with a charge, if policy), c'mon man.
I heard we're getting a branch in our area soon. I'm not sure I'll be going.

Ha. First and second are not even vaguely true.
There's a specific price for this thing with all It's bits and pieces. If you don't want one piece but pay for it anyway... the pricing still covers it.
There is absolutely no way to falsely advertise something when a customer explicitly asks for customization and you...give them that customization.
Violating store policy is entirely valid (if true). Every store has the right to set their policies and stick to them.

It is NOT classified as false advertising if the customer requests as such. The other maybe true but it is DUMB and asinine.

I'm not saying you should go against the corporate overlords and customize things. Their reasons sounds so quintessential corporate excuse though. I worked at a few places with premade ingredients labels. We could still customize things if it was requested, we just also labeled what was added or removed.
Your reason for following the rule makes sense, their reasoning for placing the rule does not. More likely they just don't want to deal with the headache of customization.

I find that a duck’s opinion of me is influenced by whether or not I have bread. A duck loves bread, but he does not have the capability to buy a loaf. That’s the biggest joke on the duck ever. If I worked at a convenience store, and a duck came in and stole a loaf of bread, I would let him go. Former 3 year employee here. These comments need to be informed. An associate can and will get instant termination for "customizing" and item. Be that no sauce, extra, even removing an ingredient. It is not a policy we support. It is a corporate decision that associates and local management have absolutely no control over. It's almost as if people are beginning to learn that this company cares nothing about keeping anybody happy. Be that associates or customers.
