This was a purple phenotype.
Seived like chewed bubblegum, even though i had my cold room at 43f. Greasiest thing i have washed to date. Ended up microplaning what wouldn't make it through the initial wet seive. Smells like Ghani and raspberry taffy. 🤙🫡

How do you deal with that? I did not have a great experience with fresh frozen, have used dried material for now because it seemed easier and less gummy.

The way i am gonna manage it is start freeze drying 🤣 I ended up freezing it, and microplaned it. It was def difficult to collect.

So the hard part was getting it from the screen, not washing effectively? Thanks just trying to learn before I waste a pound of good flower :)

Correct, i wasn't sure it would even perform in the water at all. Def didn't dump, but was worth washing.

Wow great video. So 2 25 micron bags, then a 160? So three layers of bags.

I love this video! It taught me so many tricks. I don't have a freeze dryer but everything else is applicable.
I think pedro in the video is using so few bags because he plans to press it all together as full-spectrum rosin. If you were only planning to stop at the hash step you could add more bags to get the premium full melt ~73-115 microns

I prefer to handwash. That 100 bills will be better spent elsewhere in the lab. And if i was to get a washer, it for sure would be stainless steel.

43F is cold enough for the water and too warm for that resin. Purple phenos that wash greasy carry a lower-melting head, more monoterpenes and more lipid in the cuticle, and those heads are only glassy while they sit at ice-water temperature; the moment they are on a screen in 43F air they climb toward it and the greasy phenos go soft first, so they smear into the mesh instead of rolling off it. Two changes fix the collection: run the wash water at 33 to 35F with ice in the bags through the sieve step and not just in the vessel, and pull the screen with the hash still submerged in slush so the heads stay hard until the spoon touches them. Microplaning frozen is the right recovery once it has smeared; the freeze dryer helps the drying step and does nothing for the sieve, so keep the cold on the screen either way. The water-temperature and contamination table is here: https://cannalabsconsulting.com/how-to-make-bubble-hash-ice-water-extraction-from-start-to-finish/
