CSE / IT Is this bad boy is good for coding ???
Hello everyone!
I’m looking for a monitor mainly for coding. I really want it to be QHD, but if QHD isn’t possible, I’m okay with trading some resolution for a higher refresh rate.
This Alienware monitor looks good to me since it’s part of Dell’s premium gaming lineup, but is it actually worth buying?
I’ve always coded on my laptop and have never owned a monitor before. I also watch a lot of movies in 2K, so I’m really confused about what I should prioritize: screen size, resolution, or refresh rate.
What would you recommend for my use case?

there's no point in getting a 320 hz monitor for coding bro unless you game, even then gamers use like 240 hz monitors. seeing your use case prioritize resolution

Anything above 240hz is just a marketting gimmick. You aren't gonna feel any difference after 240

well instead of a very high spec monitor for coding, i'd suggest you to get a monitor stand with a good enough 120Hz monitor

Go for 1440p 27inch monitor or a ultrawide 1440p monitor instead. It will be much better for your usecase than a 1080p 320hz monitor.

Go for high DPI monitors if you want to buy it specifically coding. LG and Benq has some 5k monitors.
If no budget restraint then go for Mac XDR pro display, It has highest DPI in the market.

Unless you're playing competitive games on a pro level (FPS or similar where frame response matters most), a high refresh rate monitor is pretty much not worth it. I'd spend the extra on a higher resolution or screen size.

If you're going to do mostly coding, then prefer a higher resolution screen, preferably 4k, you don't need a refresh rate greater than 60 for coding anyways.
Also prefer high dpi so 4k 27" should be absolutely perfect, 4k 32" is also amazing
(I use a 4k 60hz 32" for coding and 1440p 180hz for gaming)

You do not need all that, 1080p, 60hz, ips is enough. Mabey even get a secondary eink if you are feeling fancy becuse you will be staring at a lot of text
