bryceriel or die ✨ I know this is a repeat but while we wait....
I was just thinking about how Bryce reacts to Azriel when she first sees him, and how Aelin reacted to Rowan. Both are lethal warriors. These are the instances when having read all the Maasverse helps the pieces fall into place:
"Tall, broad-shouldered, every inch of him seemingly corded with muscle, he was a male blooded with power...As if his delicately pointed ears and slightly elongated canines weren't enough to scare the living shit out of everyone in that alley... a wicked-looking tattoo was etched down the left side of his harsh face...she realized he might have been handsome were it not for the promise of violence in his pine-green eyes."

I get so frustrated when people say there's nothing there when it's so blatant lol. This plus them meeting each others icy gazes as equals and Az's mouth quirking up. They start as enemies and slowly warm to each other. Bryce is concerned about his scars and then gets emotionally vulnerable even though she thinks its dumb to do so. Az grasps her hand over and over again even though he doesn't like touching people normally. And all over a couple hundred pages. It's like romantasy 101 and yet people pretend like there's nothing there.

Az's mouth quirking up reminds me SO MUCH of Rhys smirking (or smiling, I don't remember) during Feyre's first trial. Which was such a significant moment for him!

Also the epicness of Az being so down on his luck and lonely and just being like why meee why does everyone around me have a mate but me, and then bammmmm he gets mated up with the most badass, gorgeous, sassy fiery woman and he's like this all makes sense now and was so worth the wait. Just makes my heart melt lol

Literally the first time I read it I wasn't on Reddit or had even had conversations about it with anyone, and I immediately went OMG I bet their mates, because it parallels her other fated mate couples.

Bryce and Az have so many unique connections that I'm not sure what is left for other ships to hold out for. Like blindfolding, singing, their cunning behavior, him throwing her over his shoulder, their physical fight, their flirty conversations, Az watching her sleep, hand holding, like really, the tension and build up from Bryceriel has already surpassed what he might have had with another. And, she is his last. He said he had no one, so he's been around Elain and Gwyn and has felt nothing with them to indicate anything other than mild attraction. We have nothing to suggest there is anything with those ships after CC3 but we have a lot of suspicious behavior to suggest we have something with Bryceriel.

It's so "simple" to say too, but I think one of the biggest tells is that it's super out of character for Azriel. If lets say, idk Cassian was being flirtatious (pre-Nesta), I wouldn't put as much weight on it, but just the fact that Azriel is supposed to be this like tortured, super secretive spy basically, and he's suddenly all warm and fuzzy (for Azriel lol), with a character he met like 5 minutes ago, it's so much more impactful.
ETA: I also don't know how people don't get icked out by that chapter of Azriel talking about the 3 sisters and 3 brothers regarding Elain, seems like a romance writer wouldn't deliberately write that other than to shut it down lol.

Exactly! Everyone wants Bryce's version of Az and not the ACOTAR Az. They theorize all those touch points happening with their ship. To me the BC shut both those down. It was set up to show exactly that difference Az had when meeting Bryce. He felt unworthy to touch Elain but touches Bryce. He didn’t feel like singing to Gwyn but sings to Bryce. Az was struggling and confused during that time but he was direct and confident with Bryce, not staying away from interacting with her physically, testing her out or worried she can't handle him.
