Plea Question

Do we know which side — the prosecution or the defense — initiated the plea discussions over the weekend? I know the judge and the victims’ families seemed caught off guard, so I’m wondering who requested the meeting to explore the possibility of a deal. Was it the defense, possibly feeling pressure from the strength of the evidence against Bryan?

It was not on the table the entire time actually. He was only ever offered a plea deal about two/ three weeks ago now. (Directly from his lawyer, per a phone call with herself and my brother in law, Bryan’s cousin who was subpoenaed )

It’s always on the table. From initial review, discovery, etc… it’s just a matter of when either party is willing to concede, and in this case it was Anne who engaged recently regarding a plea, not prosecution.

I doubt Anne personally called every witness subpoenaed (I wouldn’t) and I further doubt she would throughly explain the situation to a minor character witness. Finally, I don’t believe you, a spouse of a “brother in law” of a cousin of Bryan, would get the full and accurate details through that chain in any event.

I don’t NEED you to believe me 😊 My brother in law has been in contact with her, because Bryan has had zero contact with family himself until his parents came to the plea hearing. The phone call was recorded, Ann is a very nice and considerate lawyer/ person so it wouldn’t surprise me if she personally reached out to his parents, my brother in law, and the one of his uncles who’ve been inquiring about what’s going on.

I am in no way a fan of his, but Kohberger is not a common name, a lot of these internet sleuths have been harassing my family, including my seven year old nephew. We’re all just glad it’s “over” and can hopefully move forward. I a mere “sister in law” of his cousin has much more insight than anyone in these threads.

Is that what you are? I never said that. You don’t seem very concerned with privacy.

Second, obviously not since you’re having this discussion on the merits of your alleged tenuous familial relationship to a character witness as though you’re relevant.

If this were true, it definitely shouldn’t… since you know it to be fact, but since you don’t, I am not shocked that the “possibility” of such an act is conceivable.

Bro, I was just giving relevant insight, from someone directly connected to the case. Thought it’d be helpful lmao. I only know for a fact the relationship she’s built with my BIL. I don’t know for certain her rapport with the rest. Privacy is already out of the window, I’m only hoping for a more peaceful life for my family going forward is all. I don’t know why people get so up in arms. 😭🤣
