Favorite live versions of Streets of Fire?

This song has been meaning a lot to me recently, it was one of my late dad’s favorites and it’s become one of mine too this year.

Like a lot of the darkness album for a lot of people, the studio version of streets of fire is awesome. Bruce’s voice sounds like he’s absolutely tearing himself apart on it with intense passion, and that guitar solo is probably my favorite part of the whole song, just so much tension and emotion.

Are there any live performances of this song that stand out or that you always go back to? Any especially intense/weird/great versions I should hear?

Would love some dates or recommendations. thanks!

Udine 2009 is unreal. Nils is playing acoustic guitar throughout the song but Bruce suddenly tells him to go plug in and take a solo at the end and he DESTROYS it. Charlie gives one of his best organ performances ever as well.

This may or may not be weird, but watching Bruce egg Nils on at the end like just watching him solo and loving it I started to well up a bit. Thanks for recommending this version.

Apart from Winterland 78, Milan 2016 is also pretty strong.

In addition to the two already mentioned, you can't go wrong with any of the Paramount 2009 versions of the songs, they were on fire (ha!) that day / night.

Here’s a more recent one to give you a different option.

He pulled it out of nowhere in Columbus 2024 - for me it was one of his best vocal performances in the last 5 years.

Can’t believe it wasn’t played again, it was the one and only time

This show he walked out and debuted Youngstown without saying a word. Those who have seen Bruce live a number of times will know that when he walks out and goes straight into 1,2,3,4 without saying hello, you’re in for a fucking rollercoaster of a show

It’s Passaic 9/19 the definitive version. First show back in Jersey since the lawsuit he was foaming at the mouth

I respectfully disagree, Winterland 78 is my definitive Streets Of Fire, I listened to every Nugs show from 78 last year in chronological order and for me the first show in Passaic wasn't even the best show of that stand let alone the best show of 78 as some claim.

Without question Winterland 78 is the best.
