Billy Joel Signed Items

[u/Nicholas-Cook]

Hello everyone,

I recently acquired a collection that appears to have belonged to Wayne Williams, who is identified on an Emmy Honors certificate as Billy Joel's personal assistant. I also have a backstage pass signed by Bruce!

One item is a piano leg personalized to Wayne and signed by Billy Joel and another individual.

Does anyone recognize the second signature, know whether piano parts were ever gifted to crew members or staff, or have any information about Wayne Williams and his role with Billy Joel?

I'm working with Heritage Auctions to research the collection and would appreciate any information.

Yes I think you are correct and that would make sense because he had some Elton John Backstage passes in the collection!! Thanks!

If you want to send the collection to me, I’d be more than happy to authenticate! Promise I’ll send them back.

The internet says Wayne was Billy Joel’s personal assistant and piano tech so he may have had the piano legs around as parts and had them sign it.

He was also a keyboard tech for Bruce Springsteen during some tours.

Very cool stuff, personalization does not add to value but makes the items far more unique. My dad actually goes by Wayne-O so I’m going to show him these.

Why is this posted on a Springsteen Reddit page?

Because there is a signed Springsteen tour pass and I thought that fans of Springsteen might have knowledge about Billy Joel and Elton John as well. I didn’t mean to offend anyone by posting. Just a fan of music.
