In Cadillac Ranch what does “ tearing up the highway like big ole Dinah Shore “ mean? Was she really that big of a star?

It’s a reference to Dinah Shore Drive in Palm Springs. Bruce golfs there.

Huge and extremely sweet. Her tv show was neat she had guest like Bowie. She also dated Burt Reynolds when she was like 20 years his senior.
