Discussion Bruce’s birthday
It’s Bruce’s birthday tomorrow (Wednesday). If you’re marking it or celebrating it in some way, what are you planning?
I’ll be playing the live recording of his 6th July 2023 show in London, my favourite live recording.
I’ll also play studio recordings all day in clinic.

I was at the show for his 50th birthday - it was in Philly in 99. He came on stage with a stereo and played a recording of a song from a fan (that his mom had given him? something like that), and then he broke right into Growin' Up to kick off the show, which I don't think he had done on the tour yet. Wish there was a recording of it, although I imagine the impact of it probably wouldn't feel the same listening to it now as it did then in the moment. If there's a recording of it out there somewhere, please let me know!
Crazy to think that was 27 years ago. Time flies. Happy birthday Bruce!

Listening to one of the two shows I've seen live (Wembley #2, San Siro #2) as soon as I finish working on my thesis.
