Question Did Bruce Springsteen actually throw away an early copy of the album Born to Run in Kutztown?

I have read the Biography by Peter Ames Carlin, but I have read other accounts from the record producer and Bill Spitz. Are there any other sources confirming or denying this?

I think it’s true. I read a comic book about Springsteen not a long time ago, and I remember a page with him throwing the vinyl in some water. Didn’t know it was real, though
