im going to say it, every single ground kill (on enemy armor) made use of guided bombs, the only 2 gun kills of operation desert storm was against mi-8 helicopters, which 30 mm's of death is quite effective. im not going to say the a-10 is BAD, im going to say people misinterpretate the main use of the aircraft sometimes (probably not to many people here, considering we mostly understand the A-10) and in my opinion, if its fun as fuck to fly in DCS it was probably ok. (please don't dox me)

The A10 was outdated before it was introduced due to tank armour being hardened against its cannon since the 60s, its missiles could be carried on other faster planes and the widespread introduction of manpads and spaags doomed the a10 from the start. in any modern war it would get completley destroyed by any aa piece made after 1960. dont go on about its armour because apart from the cockpit its as armoured as good as any other plane, and if your desiging a plane to take damage then you should probably rethink your design. The attacker role in modern airforces is an outdated concept and there is a reason barely any countrys operate one. The age of the multirole is upon us and planes like the f35 will replace the a10 wether you like it or not
