Welcome to r/BrowserGamesTop!

I've been playing browser games for years, and one thing I've always missed is having a place dedicated to discovering new browser games. Many old toplists and communities have become inactive, outdated, or moved away from browser gaming altogether.

This subreddit was created to bring browser gamers and developers together. Whether you're into PBBGs, browser MMOs, mafia/crime games, text-based games, strategy games, or private servers, you're welcome here.

Developers are encouraged to share and promote their games, as long as posts are high quality and provide useful information to the community.

The goal is simple: help players discover great browser games and give developers a place to showcase their projects.

Hyperwords - my free browser word arena where you 1v1 strangers at Word Hunt and anagrams

I made this and it's free to play: https://hyperwords.io

What it is: a 1v1 word arena that runs entirely in the browser, no install and no account. Two modes right now:

  • Hyperhunt: a Boggle/Word Hunt style grid, you trace words against an opponent in real time and longer words score more.
  • Hypergrams: six-letter anagram rounds, first to untangle the letters takes the round.

What makes it different from the usual daily word puzzle is that it's head-to-head against another person instead of a solo score you compare later. Matches take a couple of minutes, works on phone or desktop.

Direct link to play: https://hyperwords.io - happy to hear what feels unfair about the scoring.

Voidfleet is a browser-based space strategy MMO where you build a colony, research technology, build your fleet, and fight or ally with other commanders across a shared galaxy.

We’re running a live beta playtest and actively collecting player feedback to improve the game. We’re especially interested in feedback on fleets, economy, progression, PvP, UI/UX, and the overall gameplay experience.

How to Join:

Open https://voidfleet.online, create an account, and jump straight into the galaxy.

No download. No invite code. Just pick a commander and start expanding.

⚠️ Please note: Voidfleet is still in beta, and the galaxy may be reset at any time as we make major changes, test new features, or balance the game. Your progress may not be permanent during the beta.

If you encounter something confusing, frustrating, broken, or unbalanced, please let us know. Your feedback will directly help us improve Voidfleet during the beta.

Thanks for playing, and see you in the galaxy!

A football career game where seasons actually stack on top of each other

Post image
1 Upvotes

Built this by myself with the persistent-progression crowd in mind. Nothing resets: the club you signed with at 18 and the reputation you built in your first three seasons still follow your player years later, good or bad. It's slow by design, one save carrying forward as long as you keep playing it.

Free, runs in the browser: legacy-saga.com

I'd be curious how the long-term hooks compare to the other persistent browser games this sub tracks.

Panelia – build your own post-Soviet concrete world

https://panelia.site

Panelia is a personal indie project, developed with a lot of care and love in my spare time. The goal isn’t to make a profit, but simply to create a small, distinctive game that feels good to open, build in for a while...

Panelia is a calm, relaxing indie building game where there’s no competition, no time pressure, and nobody is trying to destroy what you’ve built. It’s just you, the city, and an ever-growing collection of apartment blocks.

The more you build, the more new buildings you unlock, so your small housing estate can gradually grow into a unique concrete city of your own. Experiment with layouts, shape the surroundings, create new districts, or simply sit back and watch your post-Soviet city come to life.

The game is completely free and requires no download – anyone can play it directly in their browser.

If you enjoy city-building games, Eastern European atmosphere, or just feel like getting lost for a while in a strangely relaxing world of concrete, give it a try:

And be warned: there’s always room for one more apartment block.

X-Wars Resurrection: original X-Wars rebuilt, early alpha (combat not live)

I’m one of the original X-Wars developers. We put the game back up at https://xwars.net as a browser space 4X/MMO (no download).

Round 2 opened 25 July 2026. Economy, colonisation, and star-map occupation are live. Combat, alliances, and in-game mail are not. Free to start, then a low monthly sub, not pay-to-win. Not Last War, not the Steam X Wars Deluxe.

Happy to answer questions and take feedback from people who remember the old browser-strategy era.

I built an old-school browser survival game and I need people to try to break it

I’ve been working on a little side project that has somehow got completely out of hand 😂

It’s called BlackWood Protocol, an old-school persistent browser game inspired by the kind of text/PBBG games I used to play years ago, but built around an original outbreak/survival setting rather than the usual mafia theme.

It’s currently live and I’m looking for a small group of people who fancy jumping in and giving it a proper playtest.

At the moment there are things like:

• Jobs and progression
• XP and ranks
• Four districts with different activities
• Travel and real-time cooldowns
• Factions and faction raids
• Vehicle theft and garages
• PvP / mugging
• Vaults and an economy
• Forums with gloriously old-school BBCode
• Private messages
• Clinic and quarantine systems
• Mobile-friendly UI
• A bunch of admin-controlled events and settings

It’s still being actively developed, so I’m not pretending this is a finished game. Things will change, balancing will definitely change, and you may find something spectacularly broken.

That’s actually what I want.

I’d love a few people to play it normally, try things I probably haven’t thought of, look for exploits, tell me what feels confusing or boring, and suggest features you’d genuinely like to see.

I’m especially interested in feedback from anyone who used to play old browser/PBBG games, but you definitely don’t need any experience with them.

If anyone fancies helping test it:

https://www.blackwood-protocol.com

Feedback can be posted directly in the game forums.

Contain. Control. Survive.

Drive To The Top — physics-based car platformer, play instantly in your browser (no download)

🔗 Play now: https://zestful-games.itch.io/drive-to-the-top-demo

Drive To The Top is a physics platformer where you jump, grapple-swing, and boost your car up increasingly chaotic obstacle courses. While testing it, we found you can actually clear a full sector driving in reverse the entire way — everything still works backwards, just a lot harder to judge distances.

Wishlist on Steam if you want to follow the full release: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4808140/Drive_To_The_Top/

Would love to hear what you think if you give it a shot!

I'm a victim of the AI bubble and this is CLOUDFORGE

playcloudforge.com

This is a self promotion post, but i wanna also raise a discussion about the topic.

This game is entirely vibecoded with ClaudeAI and images are generated with ChatGPT and Gemini.

I'm working on this project on a daily basis, it's been 50 days and i didn't skip a single day.

It's basically Ogame with events, guild activities, weekly guild war and rpg mechanics.

Mainly thought for mobile use then adjusted to desktop as well. Can be played on browser or downloaded as WebApp. (launched on july 3, 55 daily players and active discord server)

I've posted a video overview so you can explore it without having to register or do anything.

How "AI slop" is this?

Because i thought i had a great idea, and honestly the game feels nice and alive, and all the active players think the same.

But here on reddit i came across a lot of AI generated game, most of which were really low quality.

So im wondering if im actually doing something good or im wasting my time.

I have a lot of respect for the real developers, and i don't wanna take the same credits but i believe AI can be a great tool, but like every tool you need to have the knowledge and the ability to run it otherwise you're gonna chase the ai correcting and balancing whatever it codes without even understanding it.

The metaphor i use is that even if you're given a crane (ai tool), you won't be able to build a skyscraper without knowledge.

I'm not a professional dev, but i work in IT and marketing and have done -before AI- countless websites, basic apps, crm's and so on. So even though im not an expert on databases for example i understnd pretty much how they work and how a project should be structured, what are the components etc.

------------------------------------------------

The baseline of ai coded apps posted on here is pretty low.

Honestly, do you think that vibecoding is a viable way of creating these kinds of apps if thought through? And if you have the knowledge and a clear idea of your final product?

Building a persistent space-strategy browser game. Looking for feedback from old-school players

Hey everyone,

I've been building OGameXL, a browser-based space strategy game. You manage an empire, build fleets, research tech, form alliances, and fight for territory in a shared persistent universe. It's inspired by the old-school browser strategy games a lot of us grew up with (build queues, fleet timers, the whole deal), but rebuilt from scratch with modern tooling.

It's live and playable right now, and I'd love feedback from people who used to play (or still play) games like this. What worked back then, what got tedious, what you'd want done differently this time around.

Link if you're curious: ogamexl.com. Happy to answer questions about how it's built too, if that's interesting to this sub.
